You need to seriously look at how leftist revolutions actually unfold. Stop sending food into the cities. Pick off the armies that come out to the farms to commandeer the food production and distribution network. Burn the crops, blow up storage, and retreat with all the farming equipment and tools in a deep defense strategy away from the coasts and towards the Mississippi. They will have to deal with attrition while trying to hold and replant farmland. They can only afford 1 assault. If we win, I think we need to basically find a way to enable the federal agencies to target these groups and figure out what their organizational frameworks are. Election fraud may be the perfect crime to have caught them messing with, and can put a lot of their critical people into prison. Keeping them from organizing by taking their leaders out of the equation (by catching them and locking them up), may be the best way forward. Also, it could lock up funding from many of these organizations. If we can take money from drug cartels, when they get caught, why can’t we freeze it from these companies.

I've never had a problem with lacquer on the casings. But might be a problem if you're firing continuously or high rate of fire. The high temps melt the lacquer obviously
That is a 762 ar15 issue that has since been corrected. It doesn't really wear your chamber or bolt out either. It is corrosive, which is an issue if you don't clean and oil your guns. But the biggest problem is the lacquer that is on them can get on everything and once it builds up it effects operation and accuracy. Its also a bitch to clean if you let it go too long.
Its tin with a lot of the lacquer on it. I have an AR chambered in x39 and buy Barnaul(Russian military overrun), Monarch (Academy's store brand, made by Barnaul), Red army and tula.
But it really depends on the gun, what type of action, etc etc which one you buy. if its an old sks or ak, any of them should run just fine. AR's in x39 are notoriously finicky. I have to use one of those 4 I listed or I will have problems. The first two are the best for me, Barnaul and Monarch.

If you need to use it in a proper popping off... you won't be taking calm collected shots. You'll be firing to suppress while you maneuver into or out of one position or another.

i just want to drop in here and say this: in a fight for survival, there's no reason to fight fair. ambushes and bushwhacking. less ammo and less casualties for your side.
Even if you clear out whatever you hit, it's never a 1 group vs 1 group situation - because there are dozens of other small units all hearing what just went down. A group just down the street, some group sleeping in a building two blocks down, some dudes driving along on the road just over there, and a group camping the field you set up adjacent to.
And suddenly one or more of them look into what just went down, see you, and engage. So here you are finishing your textbook ambush where your perfect tactics cost you only 3 or 4 rounds per person... suddenly dumping mags to secure yourself the ability to maneuver into or out of, anywhere other than where you are right now.
You and a couple buddies just won't get to unload on six guys in black, or with blue helmets, walking down a street, high five after they stop moving, then saunter down to the pub to celebrate. If things really pop off, that scenario will exist for a week at most, and then you have months of wishing you'd have paid $5 a round with your covid check, let alone the measly <.75c a round you can find out there now.
Even the best ambushes are going to be paid with an upfront ammo cost to secure access to the areas you'll want to ambush from. And you'll be paying cost in ammo to deny the routes of entry to primo ambush spots of your opposition. 10x-100x rounds are paid upfront to purchase the opportunity to later spend a handful of rounds in your ambush. -- You scout out a nice area along a road you think the opposition travels, but eventually you will end up making contact, and needing to break contact at some point. You will need to take and hold, or flush away, and set up points of denial lest the ambush you set up be scouted and revealed as they inevitably run up on make and then break contact on you. That all costs ammo.
100 guys with 300 rounds on them and 3,000 rounds back at home will wipe the floor against 1,000 guys with 30 rounds each to their name. You can hide and hope for a good shot, but you'll never push, take, or hold territory. Which means I have the water, I have the port, or the road into and out of. I have the super market locked down, and every humanitarian drop belongs to me. You have the gas you can syphon out of parked cars well out of sight of all my positions, and I have the gas station. Everywhere you want to go I've pushed, taken, and hold an overwatch over using volume of fire. So anyone who wants to get anywhere to hide and snipe me from must pay an ammo cost you can't sustain to enter that field.
Every time one of you fire one round, they'll end up firing off the other 29 failing to get away. And for every one who makes it somewhere worth shooting from, you'll lose 9 and their mag of ammo as they run afoul of my own ambushes where my guys are happy slinging 100 rounds a piece their way without blinking. You will never strip ammo off any of our corpses because you lack the ammo to pay the action cost of pushing onto the one corpse as his four buddies lay down terrifying amounts of cover.

Barring foreign intervention or living within 100 miles of an ammo plant that still has it's supply chain intact, whatever you start with, is all you'll have. Your ammo count is your action count.
Actions are paid in bullets, and the totality of what you will achieve in a civil war is paid in advance as the count of ammo you stocked before hand.
The needs of position mean that you can not attrite manpower faster than an opposing force can attrite your ammo supply. Canada won't be air dropping you 5.56. China won't, Russia won't, Britain won't. What you start with is what you have.

And if things go south, set the pace and intensity of ammo use such that you attrite their supply in conflict before any foreign nation can resupply them. I gave my ex a beretta 96 .40 a few yrs ago so we are set as far as home defense. But i want something of my own and still not sure if i should get my M&P in .40 to share ammo, or 9mm for more mag capacity. Or .45. I had a beautiful para ordnance 1911 that i lost in the pawnshop and it still hurts
9mm ammunition has come a long way. Capacity is king. I love my 1911's, but 8rds of 45 in a 1911, loses to 15 rds of good 9mm in a CZ. For carry purposes, I can carry 12 in my FNS vs the same 8 in a 1911.
To get 14 or more rounds of 45, you end up with a pretty heavy piece that is great for shooting and terrible for carrying.
What I do:
Carry a FNS 9c - 9mm FNHerstal 12rd/17 rd capacity depending on which magazine
NIghtstand - FNX45 (FNHerstal 15 rounds of .45, Polymer framed and hammer fired greatness)
Wifes Nightstand - CZ75 compact (15 rounds 9mm)
Put short, they all have their place and you need to know what you want out of a gun. Carry, nightstand, clear bunkers full of Portland commies; each of those has its own huckleberry so to speak.

You need to seriously look at how leftist revolutions actually unfold. It's almost impossible to stop the inevitable once things get rolling, and leftists will be a lot better organized and armed than you think. Conservatives tend to think that if society breaks down during a violent revolution they'll be fine, so long as long as they have enough ammo and food to wait out any unrest while defending their family against any hooligans who want to come take their toilet paper.

I agree the short term threat is not as great, the bigger threat is tech company backed robotics that renders human resistance very futile. If we win, I think we need to basically find a way to enable the federal agencies to target these groups and figure out what their organizational frameworks are. Election fraud may be the perfect crime to have caught them messing with, and can put a lot of their critical people into prison. Keeping them from organizing by taking their leaders out of the equation (by catching them and locking them up), may be the best way forward. Also, it could lock up funding from many of these organizations. If we can take money from drug cartels, when they get caught, why can’t we freeze it from these companies.

I've never had a problem with lacquer on the casings. But might be a problem if you're firing continuously or high rate of fire. The high temps melt the lacquer obviously
Lacquered ammo caused stovepiping in my Mini-14. Never gave me trouble in any of the other guns. So yes it can be a problem, but it's not inevitable.

That is a 762 ar15 issue that has since been corrected. It doesn't really wear your chamber or bolt out either. It is corrosive, which is an issue if you don't clean and oil your guns. But the biggest problem is the lacquer that is on them can get on everything and once it builds up it effects operation and accuracy. Its also a bitch to clean if you let it go too long.

I saw sgammo had some specially made steel from barnaul. The primer looked brass(it was a gold like color while the rest of the case was steel)
Its tin with a lot of the lacquer on it. I have an AR chambered in x39 and buy Barnaul(Russian military overrun), Monarch (Academy's store brand, made by Barnaul), Red army and tula.
But it really depends on the gun, what type of action, etc etc which one you buy. if its an old sks or ak, any of them should run just fine. AR's in x39 are notoriously finicky. I have to use one of those 4 I listed or I will have problems. The first two are the best for me, Barnaul and Monarch.

i just want to drop in here and say this: in a fight for survival, there's no reason to fight fair. ambushes and bushwhacking. less ammo and less casualties for your side.
Ambushes don't stay ambushes.
Even if you clear out whatever you hit, it's never a 1 group vs 1 group situation - because there are dozens of other small units all hearing what just went down. A group just down the street, some group sleeping in a building two blocks down, some dudes driving along on the road just over there, and a group camping the field you set up adjacent to.
And suddenly one or more of them look into what just went down, see you, and engage. So here you are finishing your textbook ambush where your perfect tactics cost you only 3 or 4 rounds per person... suddenly dumping mags to secure yourself the ability to maneuver into or out of, anywhere other than where you are right now.
You and a couple buddies just won't get to unload on six guys in black, or with blue helmets, walking down a street, high five after they stop moving, then saunter down to the pub to celebrate. If things really pop off, that scenario will exist for a week at most, and then you have months of wishing you'd have paid $5 a round with your covid check, let alone the measly <.75c a round you can find out there now.
Even the best ambushes are going to be paid with an upfront ammo cost to secure access to the areas you'll want to ambush from. And you'll be paying cost in ammo to deny the routes of entry to primo ambush spots of your opposition. 10x-100x rounds are paid upfront to purchase the opportunity to later spend a handful of rounds in your ambush. -- You scout out a nice area along a road you think the opposition travels, but eventually you will end up making contact, and needing to break contact at some point. You will need to take and hold, or flush away, and set up points of denial lest the ambush you set up be scouted and revealed as they inevitably run up on make and then break contact on you. That all costs ammo.
100 guys with 300 rounds on them and 3,000 rounds back at home will wipe the floor against 1,000 guys with 30 rounds each to their name. You can hide and hope for a good shot, but you'll never push, take, or hold territory. Which means I have the water, I have the port, or the road into and out of. I have the super market locked down, and every humanitarian drop belongs to me. You have the gas you can syphon out of parked cars well out of sight of all my positions, and I have the gas station. Everywhere you want to go I've pushed, taken, and hold an overwatch over using volume of fire. So anyone who wants to get anywhere to hide and snipe me from must pay an ammo cost you can't sustain to enter that field.
Every time one of you fire one round, they'll end up firing off the other 29 failing to get away. And for every one who makes it somewhere worth shooting from, you'll lose 9 and their mag of ammo as they run afoul of my own ambushes where my guys are happy slinging 100 rounds a piece their way without blinking. You will never strip ammo off any of our corpses because you lack the ammo to pay the action cost of pushing onto the one corpse as his four buddies lay down terrifying amounts of cover.
You aren't the insurgent in Iraq. You are the insurgent facing off against the other insurgent. You're in a Civil War. You will take lives, so will I, but you'll run out of ammo before I run out of men, at which point all your remaining forces ditch their gear and mix back into the general population as I now move around entirely unhindered -- you will find that the number of your original 1,000 brave enough to walk out with six rounds in their one mag, knowing that they are dead 30 minutes after they fire their first shot, is zero -- because you lost the bravest of your 1,000 early on.
The only thing more important than ammo is food and water. And even that is debatable because food and water can be acquired after the fact. Barring foreign intervention or living within 100 miles of an ammo plant that still has it's supply chain intact, whatever you start with, is all you'll have. Your ammo count is your action count.
Actions are paid in bullets, and the totality of what you will achieve in a civil war is paid in advance as the count of ammo you stocked before hand.
The needs of position mean that you can not attrite manpower faster than an opposing force can attrite your ammo supply. Canada won't be air dropping you 5.56. China won't, Russia won't, Britain won't. What you start with is what you have.
TLDR: BUY AMMO, BUY ALL OF IT. DRIVE THE PRICES SO HIGH THAT LEFTISTS BUY NONE OF IT
And if things go south, set the pace and intensity of ammo use such that you attrite their supply in conflict before any foreign nation can resupply them. Push everything, spend ammo like it's water, hunt everything that takes even a pot shot, force them to spend everything they have, make them spend ammo walking out the door, taking a shit, crossing a road that doesn't matter. Then win everything when they have nothing left.

9mm ammunition has come a long way. Capacity is king. I love my 1911's, but 8rds of 45 in a 1911, loses to 15 rds of good 9mm in a CZ. For carry purposes, I can carry 12 in my FNS vs the same 8 in a 1911.
To get 14 or more rounds of 45, you end up with a pretty heavy piece that is great for shooting and terrible for carrying.
What I do: Carry a FNS 9c - 9mm FNHerstal 12rd/17 rd capacity depending on which magazine
NIghtstand - FNX45 (FNHerstal 15 rounds of .45, Polymer framed and hammer fired greatness)
Wifes Nightstand - CZ75 compact (15 rounds 9mm)
Put short, they all have their place and you need to know what you want out of a gun. Carry, nightstand, clear bunkers full of Portland commies; each of those has its own huckleberry so to speak.

AMMO is a serious problem. I was just chatting with my cousin the other day and he can't even get brass for his reloading kit. (I don't know if he can't find it at all or if it's just ridiculously expensive. I had to break his heart and tell him that we didn't have any spare brass for him.)
We have a good chunk of land and my husband was musing about building a free gun range just so we could collect the brass from people practicing.
Your husband is a wise man. I've been picking up brass at my range for years, reloading it and putting it in the stockpile. .223 is the most common of all; it seems that a lot of people treat .223 brass as a disposable nuisance, like used Dixie cups.

Though I disagree with stimulus checks, I of course had to go use it to by an AR-15, and a Mossberg 500 back in May, and July. Figured if the Government was going to activate the money printer, and artificially drive up inflation, might as well take advantage of it.

They make great anchors, but it sucks if you drift and have to cut them loose. Happens to me all the time.
