That is a 762 ar15 issue that has since been corrected. It doesn't really wear your chamber or bolt out either. It is corrosive, which is an issue if you don't clean and oil your guns. But the biggest problem is the lacquer that is on them can get on everything and once it builds up it effects operation and accuracy. Its also a bitch to clean if you let it go too long.
Its tin with a lot of the lacquer on it. I have an AR chambered in x39 and buy Barnaul(Russian military overrun), Monarch (Academy's store brand, made by Barnaul), Red army and tula.
But it really depends on the gun, what type of action, etc etc which one you buy. if its an old sks or ak, any of them should run just fine. AR's in x39 are notoriously finicky. I have to use one of those 4 I listed or I will have problems. The first two are the best for me, Barnaul and Monarch.
Someone told me its the firing pin that takes the brunt of it. The chamber not so much but it tends to jam easier than brass.
I wish i had an a now.

If i would have to get steel ammo, whats the best kind?
I saw sgammo had some specially made steel from barnaul. The primer looked brass(it was a gold like color while the rest of the case was steel)

Probably 5.56 with those brands would be ok too?
That's like asking what's the best pack of Ramen.
Once you're down to Ramen level, it doesn't matter.
Is that something you can by spare parts for easily, if it’s known to wear out quickly?
You can get firing pins online easily. I think wilson makes some ar ones. Its pretty cheap, for now at least
Last year? Yes.
This year? Good luck. Maybe, maybe not. If you find some, buy 3.
