A friend of mine, a long time ago now, introduced me to a book, "Meditations on Violence" by Sgt. Rory Miller. It covers pretty much exactly what OP is talking about here, and a bit more (It is a whole book after all)
There are exercises at the end aimed at preparing oneself to be able to think, move and be effective in the adrenaline-ridden altered state of consciousness that OP is talking about.
I'll add that the battlefield at this point in history is primarily mental and relational. And I know that the Eugenicist Communist Billionaires don't fight fair and are exploiting every moral and immoral advantage and tactic at their disposal (95% of media, big tech),

There were skirmishes between Soviet Union forces and US forces too. We still managed to get by without an all out war.
