Im still a noob but ive watched a few yt vids informally comparing it to 556. Its very similar. The 545.typically has a hollow cavity in the tip.of the round and some argue it allows for yawing to occur earlier than 5.56. Im just repeating what ive heard, take with a grain of salt
prayinpede you would be correct in regards to 7n6 coded 5.45 ammo. Modern production lacks the air gap however the length and weird weight distribution of the round still cause violent tumbling and fragmentation to occur.
Can you get 556 with the air gap?
nope. it was designed to only rely on it’s velocity and low weight to tumble.
