I do think their intentions are good -- they're not deliberately publishing misinformation -- but sometimes good intentions aren't good enough.

A buyer of information should always beware, that is why all news outlets should have a comment section. Rigorous debate finds the truth.

Absolutely.

...and precisely why so many prestigious publications removed theirs. They don't want to be questioned, which I think should be viewed under greater scrutiny than publications that happily publish things that may yet not be verified but are willing to be scrutinized.
