It might take the mods some time to get rid of them, so blocking the user will keep them out of your view in the meantime.

At the very least, it does for me. I blocked a few prominent shills this morning and weren’t able to see any more of their spam when I refreshed to new.

Interesting. I guess I ought to test it. Maybe propagation is slow or something because every time I block some blockhead, they somehow are able to respond to my posts, etc.
