Whole Foods? Be careful. Socialists love to shop there. Wouldn't want to lose business.

Used to work at one... the message of the company isn't terrible - cruelty free treatment of animals used for meat/seafood, taking out the guesswork of unhealthy chemicals and fake substances in foods, giving employees decent pay. Yea its expensive but those are the reasons why and a lot of people shop there just because of those 3 things and dont mind paying extra for the overhead to support it. Most of the people I worked with were raging leftist loons but Im in a raging leftist town so I cant speak on other locations. It definitely does attract its share of the 'hippy' market with its vegan/health angle though.

I rarely shop at Whole Foods, but not everything is even overpriced. I paid like 1.50 for a bottle of aspirin, 1 for a fancy bagel, 3.30 for a sandwich. They have their place, and the sandwich was better quality than the mall junk which would have cost twice as much.

The founder is well known as a libertarian and has been for years. IIRC he even wrote a book about capitalism being great & socialism sucking. I assume this is the same dude.

You'd be surprised, a lot of my moderate right friends shop there.

Even my ex-gfs mother, too. She's a diehard Trump Supporter and Analyst (For Hasbro)

But yeah, definitely more left leaning people

Remember the days when you didn't have to evaluate whether a company aligned with you politically before deciding to shop there or not?

I'm probably considered a moderate R and have no problem with them. I'm not as strict with the boycotting as some others here, but live in a blue area.

Does’t mean they wont stop trying. It’s like the abject failure of it fuels the hubris of every Marxist to do it the “right way”. Jesus, I can’t tell if they are true believers or just that damn window licking warped. Lord have mercy Trump shut down the temple of indoctrination now please. What has B. Devos been waiting for. New hq for that civimil branch headed by Cohen-Watnik right meow!

I don't get why this is surprising. He's the CEO of a huge company he started from scratch in Texas that almost failed multiple times. He gets it. Yeah liberals love whole foods but they also love their iPhones. It's just cool to hate on capitalism without realizing it's given them everything. I also think it's not contradictory to hold socially progressive views and be a capitalist.

He's not stupid, he's hedging his bets for when Trump wins. I still don't trust a guy who runs a gathering place for Marxists.

Socialism fails even on a small scale. Early American settlements with common storehouses for good learned this.

So true!!

The difference is in its scale and locality -- there is nothing wrong with a local community taking care of itself (it can even be a rather diverse community if the people within it do agree and participate in the civil construct). Think: local food bank or local charity drive. Due to the size and reach, it may be willingly participated in because the people live in close proximity and know each other. It isn't a bad idea -- the more self-sufficient and self-autonomous a community is, the more likely individuals within that community will be able to practice the same. You will be "Bob, the guy who lives in Apt. C" rather than a number on a ledger, and thus will be treated more as Bob than your ID number. That is where socialism falls apart: it is not local and is small, and you are a statistic to be dealt with rather than a person to consider.

The leftists realize this, and that is why they want people dis-united in as many ways as possible: break down communities, break down the social construct...something has to fill its place. They've done this (same thing they've done to the smallest and most integral unit: the family).

It's not even possible within a family unit. Ever have siblings? Gtfo with your pro commie horse shit.

The greatest lie ever told was this one.
Their is nothing perfect about being equal to each and every person all the time.
Our differences and inequalities are what makes us individuals. I have no interest in being a commy-bot.

Downvote this faggot to McCainville.

No, in a perfect world socialism would not be necessary.

Our Constitutional Republic is imperfect, but it is the best one invented yet.

The most perfect form of government is a monarchy where the King is all-knowing, perfectly just and perfectly wise and loves his people with the love of a perfect father and he is immortal.

In other words, heaven with Christ ruling over it.
