You wont have to be asking here if they do.

Maybe but Tdw gets info before most sites. And who knows if the media would report it anytime soon...and who knows how long it would take to see/feel the affects of a strike.

According to http://www.globeconfreight.com/blog/independent-owner-operator-truck-driver-statistics-united-states/

9% of Truck Drivers are Owner Operators, meaning they don't work for a company. They take the jobs they want, and if they don't take jobs they won't get fired.

If a significant number of these drivers refuse to haul, there will be noticeable disruptions in the supply chain for many industries. Sure, most mega corporations have their own fleets, but their drivers don't necessarily cover the entire supply chain.

Remember, we're not talking about warehouse to box store deliveries. We're talking about raw materials to factories, parts to manufacturers, fuel for machinery, etc. If there is a hiccup in ONE part of this chain, we will see massive disruptions across the specific industry.

And once there is a disruption (real or perceived), the supply and demand equilibrium will be unbalanced. Whether that imbalance affects fuel, cargo space, parts, ingredients, whatever... as soon as the consumer catches wind of it, panic buying sets in and throws the system further towards chaos.

** I AM NOT SAYING THIS WILL HAPPEN. I'm simply pointing out that it is possible for a relatively small number of truckers to make enough of a disruption to cause problems. **
