Since March i've been on this train. I've been surprised what you can find made not only outside of China, but here in the US if you really look - most everything except certain electronics.
None of the Christmas gifts I bought this year are made in China, most are made in the USA. Feels good man.
Scouring the internet. There is stuff out there. When buying gifts you also may have to shift or narrow the types of gifts you're looking for. For example, very few electronics are made in the USA of course.
Assembled in USA is also something to look for.
I avoid buying on Amazon, but their reviews and Q&A sections for each product usually has info from buyers about where stuff is manufactured.
I try my best to only eat at or pick up from these days local restaurants as well. Screw big corporate chains. Their food sucks anyway. Support your local businesses for shopping and dining.
If you can buy local you always should. Even if the price is slightly higher, 50% of that purchase makes it back into your community instead of virtually 0! You’ll be investing in yourself and you’ll get that “savings” back in the form of a better economy.
Thanks to our governor a lot of the small businesses lost their shirt. Aside from some smaller restaurants, the thrift store was the only business to advertise for small business Saturday. I could only find $5 worth of stuff, but did stop by yesterday.
I buy usa first and if I can't find it within the states I go out of the states and China is last on the list. If I cant find someone who sells what im looking for before I get to China then I just assume I might not actually even need what im looking for.
that's basically what I do as well. I just look for anything not made in china. Any other country will do, but made in the USA gets top priority if available. If it's china, I put it back. Saved so much money not buying junk I didn't really need in the first place and learned a good lesson about materialism in the process
They always try to get you with those affordable prices to the point you almost can't pass up the deal. Then once you get the product you cant even believe you overpaid by underpaying for cheap garbage.
Add me to that list. Been boycotting china since the beginning of this year. Feels good not giving my money to our biggest enemy. Saving money is the cherry on top
When you consistently try to buy American made products you really see how deep China has embedded itself in the world market of products. Sometimes it's hard to find certain products that are made in America but I always buy American products first even if it costs me more. We have to bring back more production to America.
Every gift I'm giving is made in the USA or in friendly countries, with the exception of hand knit items, which I made with wool grown and spun here.
It does take time to find things, and it costs a little more. But when I make a purchase, I'm helping an American pay their mortgage, fuel their car, and feed their family.
Cancelled Prime, will never look back. It's too damn dangerous to have one megacorp providing everything from pharmaceuticals to books.
I've been trying to avoid chinese manufactured stuff for some time now, it's extremely difficult but it's worth it. The only thing I can't seem to get rid off are chinese made shoes, but that's because I love Camper shoes.

How? How are you doing it? There needs to be a US only version of amazon.

Hand made gifts here... Bought good, hand dyed yarn from a local place, making hats and gloves for everyone. And stuffies for the little ones.
Shop local and small businesses this year! I'd rather help JimBob and Sarah buy presents for their kids than give some corporate asshole my money.

exactly
I own my small business and doing listings today I cringed every time a piece of clothing said made in China. I hate that so much comes from China
Remember back when Sam Walton was alive and Wal-Mart featured made in the USA stuff? The kids turned it into China mart.

I'm putting the bulk of my cash into preparedness supplies, and donating to the legal fights.
Does a Lego Architecture model of the Great Wall of China count? I mean it was made in Denmark, soooo....
Is there a made in the USA Amazon type company? Seems like it'd do really well.

Every time you buy something made in China, that gives them more dollars to buy US land, companies, and ammo to use against us.

We should push a message to buy American to stop the spread of Covid from China.
Option B: we need to assist the Chinese people take back their country.
$100 US is still made in America, right?
The updoots don't rule over you anymore. This ain't reddit
