Oh I agree, The Clash are awesome btw. What I mean is that punk wasn't supposed to be polished at all. Current music is mostly all an abomination of sound with no soul but I'm an old fashioned gen Xer.
Yup, punk was not meant to be polished. The annoying thing with punk is that 10 seconds after the second punk was created, he accused the first punk of selling out. I miss the eighties.
I know, it's hilarious. I used to go to the Vans Warped Tours in the 90s and laugh at all the "punks" that looked like they were all wearing some kind of punk rock uniform. Punk is great but at the same time at odds with itself.
Punk rock videos should suck though lol.
They age well though. Google some "Tommy Gun" video from the Clash. You don't get that kind of intensity from current artists.
