Warning, pedes... female rant.....Guys get awesome functional clothing for all the EDC. Women are stuck trying to find functional clothes that don't make us look all butch. Yes, purses can carry a metric ton of stuff, but can be stolen or mugged away. If it's not on you, it can't help you. I have EDC envy. ☹️
Have you looked at 5.11 Tactical for clothing options? The main reason I buy their clothing is the functionality. All their pants I own have 2 additional upper hip pockets above the traditional rear pockets. My knife, Gerber, flashlight, and spare mag go in those. Super discreet and comfortable.
I love how everyone is assuming that every pair of 5.11 pants is "tactical" looking. Clearly they've never seen the defender flex jeans and pants. I have 6 pairs of them. I don't wear any other kind of jeans anymore.
I’ve got 3 pair and the first time I wore the blue ones, my teen daughters thought they were very stylish... especially since I only wear cargos the rest of the time. Was just thinking, this morning, that I need a black pair of the flex jeans
I think the same guys who wear 5.11 are the guys who have all the decals and stickers on their trucks of firearm brands. You won't see that shit on my windshield or bumper. But inside the car however, there is likely at least one loaded firearm in my vehicle if I am in that vehicle. I don't believe in "truck guns" or if you keep in your car all the time. I think it's mostly pointless. You won't be able to get to it in time and it will more likely be stolen one day. It wouldn't be too hurtful to lose an old gun, but id feel bad about being responsible for arming a scumbag.
Off topic from your point, but out here in the sticks (and I'm pretty sure where the ancient origins of the term lie...) the truck gun is what you keep jammed behind the passenger seat or hanging in the back window for when you pull into the driveway to see a coyote trying to dig into the chicken coop. I don't think it ever clicked for me that people were talking about it as a self-defense against humans tool until I read your post here. I carry a handgun in the vehicle when I'm going somewhere for self-defensee, but when I'm on my land I throw a .22 in the passenger seat as the "truck gun". Or a shotgun if it's hunting season.
If you're not parking on public roads or in parking lots I think it's fine. I am mostly speaking of the people in suburban and urban areas even that keep an extra gun in the car for self defense. And usually a handgun.
Completely agree. A truck gun is entirely pointless unless you are a LEO. If you have time to get to a truck gun, you have time to take defensive cover.
In what situation would you use it?
If it’s road rage, good luck claiming self defense, at least in Texas.
Active shooter? I wouldn’t run into an active shooter scene with an AR, that’s a good way to become target practice for the responding swat team.
Plus you have to run to your car, grab the gun, rack the charging handle then you can engage.
Trust me, I tried to justify a truck gun because man I want to roll around with my AR-15 but I just couldn’t find a benefit to outweigh the risk of theft. I just settled on a Glock with a RMR and TLR7 and trained my ass off with it, as that is the gun I’m most likely to use to protect life.
Yes, but that is a side issue. Also a side issue...the steel floor plate on my trusty old Singer will swing by the cord in a four foot radius. I haven't figured the velocity, but I imagine it would smart a bit impacting some numpty's head.
When you wake up one morning on a desert island, you’ll wish you had two knives on your person like he does.
I also have a phone book chained to my belt like I’m a warrior priest, just in case my phone dies.
I personally carry everything the OP does, and also add my favorite paperback book (in case I find myself waiting in a line), a small hatchet, two backup pens, a flare gun and space blanket for emergencies, a first aid kit in a fanny pack, an extra pair of socks and boots in case the ones I’m wearing get soaked, a pair of binoculars (they can save your life), and most importantly, a large canteen of water and four days’ worth of MREs.
Some emasculated lefties might give me weird looks in public but that’s not my problem. I like to be prepared.
This is the 21st century; I forgot to mention that I carry a portable, miniature fusion reactor with a nice MARPAT camo dip, in case I a stumble across a small town that needs power.
Remember to ALWAYS have a plan and ALWAYS come prepared.
I actually commute to work in Noah’s ark, prepared at all times to restart civilization if need be. It’s equipped with depleted uranium shielding and a large arsenal of antipersonnel, anti-armor, and anti-air countermeasures — the specifics of which are classified and thus redacted from the Bible as well.
Was half expecting you to add an infant on your chest for finding commie ghosts.
What's the thingy at the top right? I'm currently assuming it's some kind of trigger guard/holster since I don't see a holster anywhere else but I can't piece together how it works.
CRKT minimalist bowie. I bought that same knife at wal-mart 9 years ago for $20 or so and used it every day for 7 years. I love that knife. The tip chipped off though and I lost the case for it somewhere so it was replaced with another style crkt
Only time I ever had to use my sabre red is on a couple of dogs that came into my yard and tried to bite me. I always have it on me and an extra close by.
We'll see the thing is I'm from the UK, but I was sailing to california with my entire knife collection on board and there was this rogue wave that came along.
I love the CRKT minimalist Knives. I have the mini Bowie that I EDC as my work knife, and have a cleaver like yours I keep in my BO bag. I bought a bunch of extras to give out as Christmas gifts this year.
I am a plumber, so when mine needs to be sharpened up a bit, I hone it on the underside of a toilet tank lid. 5 strokes per side and that baby is splitting hairs again!
What holster do you use? I have a PL Mini 2 also (for a XDS 45) and cant find a holster company that will customize to fit. Maybe you have it easier since you have a G19.
I bought a holster from them but made the mistake of trying appendix when I'm normally a 3:30 carry. I hated it. I have a Black Arch holster for my current edc which is a P320 with no light, so the XDS with the light is in a safe under the bed.
I don't have money to buy tons of holsters so I'm waiting for now.
I have a little extra combat padding around the midsection. Walking around, I'm fine. But sitting, it was miserably uncomfortable. I tried for almost a month and just couldn't do it. Went back to 3:30 and was very relieved to do so.
I bet in 10 years I too will be carrying 3:30 again for similar reasons. There is no perfect carry position, do what works for you and makes you happy. If your gun isn’t comfy you won’t wear it and what’s the point.
Unpopular opinion probably, but for the time being, can we implement a Sunday Gunday Megathread for all of these kinds of posts for the next few weeks? There are a ton of sticky worthy stop the steal posts in Rising that aren't being showcased because of all the SG posts.
(someone pointed out that you cannot post images in threads. Use https://maga.host/)
Karambit is the modern day butterfly knife for edgelords, and that red dot is not going to do anything but hamper you in a situation where you need your weapon quickly.
Thank you for your service, but to use it as a matter of justification is a logical fallacy.
✔️ Glock with meme slide cutouts
✔️ RMR
✔️ Karambit (points deducted for not being hydrodipped your favorite CS:GO skin)
✔️ Money clip so fucking thick it defeats the point of a money clip
✔️ Multiple knives because you never know when you'll have to fight bullet-dodging ninjas
✔️ Whatever the name is for that silly knife in the top right that everyone has
Not pictured:
❌ Grunt-Style T-Shirt
❌ Worn multicam hat with velcro subdued color US flag
❌ Filthy unkempt "Got my DD-214" beard
❌ Black Rifle Coffee Co. coffee
❌ Tacky gun stickers on back window of truck
I'm poking fun that your EDC, like EDCs on Reddit, is a lot of cliche meme stuff that seems less oriented towards utility and more on 'being a badass'. Notice I didn't make fun of your weapon light? Because it's not the "Cliche EDC starter pack" brand Streamlight or something.
Some of it is tongue in cheek, like the Glock. Glocks are gay, we all know it, but they're handy, but I added it to the list because it's just a very cliche handgun.
But something like the karambit I will always make fun of. A silly meme knife nobody cared about until it was memed into popularity by CS:GO, and you can protest all you want, but if you carry a karambit, you're a meme.
I could've also poked fun that you didn't have three tourniquets, one of those ankle IFAKs, and a chest decompression needle. But I mean, you don't have them, so is that really making fun of you?
I'm making fun of the aesthetic that you tick a lot of boxes on. The money clip that's thicker than your dick is long, for example. Money clips are supposed to be super-minimal, a money clip that holds 12 cards defeats the point, so why have the money clip besides it's "cool"?
Look dude, if you don't want to poked fun at because you fit into a Starter Pack cliche, then don't share your shit, or maybe reorient what you own and carry, that doesn't involve carrying two and a half knives, where ironically the only useful knife you have is the half-knife on the multitool.
Why poke fun at all? Certainly doesn't come off that way when all you do is bash what I carry from the get-go. Twice. You deleted your first post so forgive me for taking your 'jabs' as being dickish.
We are supposed to be on the same side here. If you can't at least toss in the winking emoji, as gay as they are, how is anyone supposed to take your comments as tongue-in-cheek?
Let me answer your question with a question: what was your objective, with posting your EDC? It doesn't actually serve you to do so in any way... likely, you thought it was 'cool' and wanted strangers on the internet to compliment you. I mean, why else do it?
That's what we do when we post guns all the time. There's no point except to show off, so I assume there's a low-key undercurrent of 'yeah I'm badass' thought in there.
So with that in mind, why not expect the contrary? You posted this for the judgement of your peers, and I'm judging it.
Honestly? I wouldn't have said anything if you didn't have those two stupid-ass fucking knives. Karambits are retarded and I keep saying "meme" because it is. Pitch it straight into the trash, you'll always be made fun of and referred to as a CS:GO meme. And those clinch-knives are also a cliche. They aren't practical, but they're carried by people who think they need a discreet knife to use in some kind of combat situation. It's silly.
As I said: it would be the same if you were one of those people carrying around the ankle IFAK and 3 tourniquets. There's a fine line between being practical, and being a goofass, and carrying a simple flip-out Gerber knife is practical. A karambit and a clinch knife are goofass.
Well, if it makes you feel better to poke fun at a stranger on the internet, by all means have at it. Consider me a meme all you want to since it clearly gives you a bitty boner. I'm prepared and fully capable of using everything I carry. I also do have iFAKs in separate bags I keep with me wherever I go.
Be the retard who can't do anything but look stupid in an emergency. At least you won't 'look' like a meme.
Dude, quit acting like a Whitney cork sniffer! Either of those knives will get the job done, regardless of whether they are a popular trend at the moment. Doesn’t matter if you scrape a shitty butter knife on the curb for a jagged edge if it gets the job done.
I actually have like 5 different knives I carry at any one time, depends on the mood. Just happen to pocket-dump the karambit today. Usually a CRKT M16, but that wouldn't have summoned the trolls like the raptor claw does.
Like you said, anything would work in a situation that needed it.
I love the CRKT knives. Extremely comfortable grip, and holds a razor edge. I didnt realize that some folks look down on them, and dont care. The ones I own are great knives that see daily use, and hold an edge. At a fair price as well. Knives are tools. They either work or they dont.
You will have to forgive me, I am but a lowly Plumber that uses his blade for things like sharpening the occasional pencil, or scraping gunk off of a pipe. Had I realized that I was in the presence of Jedi bladesman, I wouldnt have commented.
I had no idea that so many here were knife fighting daily. Yall must be damn good at it, because I havent noticed a turn over at all.
I am inclined to agree with you. There is absolutely nothing in that picture that is appealing to my eyes (IE good guns). How this “EDC” post ever got sticked is beyond me.
Warning, pedes... female rant.....Guys get awesome functional clothing for all the EDC. Women are stuck trying to find functional clothes that don't make us look all butch. Have you looked at a belly band holster? My dad has one but he probably uses it as a corset for the most part.
Easy on Dad. Lunch hangs on a little longer as you get older.
Haha!
That is an added item to carry.
True
Have you looked at 5.11 Tactical for clothing options? The main reason I buy their clothing is the functionality. All their pants I own have 2 additional upper hip pockets above the traditional rear pockets. My knife, Gerber, flashlight, and spare mag go in those. Super discreet and comfortable.

Carhartt is pretty good too if you don't want to stand out as the guy who is definitely carrying. Makes it more of a 50/50
Carhartt pants are the best EDC pants and unlike 5.11 you don't look like a cop.
I understand. I guess that was my long-winded way of saying that I didn't know anyone actually did that ot used the term "truck gun" to describe it.
Completely agree. A truck gun is entirely pointless unless you are a LEO. If you have time to get to a truck gun, you have time to take defensive cover.
In what situation would you use it? If it’s road rage, good luck claiming self defense, at least in Texas.

5.11 makes a lot of mens and women’s pants that don’t “look like a cop” these days. Check them out.
And no, I don’t work for them. I’m a lowly concrete finisher.
Yes, but that is a side issue. Also a side issue...the steel floor plate on my trusty old Singer will swing by the cord in a four foot radius. I haven't figured the velocity, but I imagine it would smart a bit impacting some numpty's head.
Take a look at the Sig Sauer P365 XL. It's replaced the fat-ass Glock 19 I used to carry.
That looks nice, but my SW Shield and I are currently in a committed relationship.
That's a lot of shit to carry everyday.
When you wake up one morning on a desert island, you’ll wish you had two knives on your person like he does.
I also have a phone book chained to my belt like I’m a warrior priest, just in case my phone dies.

Weak. You need to add five gallons of gasoline to that.
This is the 21st century; I forgot to mention that I carry a portable, miniature fusion reactor with a nice MARPAT camo dip, in case I a stumble across a small town that needs power.
Remember to ALWAYS have a plan and ALWAYS come prepared.
You are the second most interesting man in the world.
Yeah but two is one and one is none. Do you have two Level IV plates duct-taped together in case someone shoots you with a .338LM tungsten-core round?
I actually commute to work in Noah’s ark, prepared at all times to restart civilization if need be. Threads like this are why I fucking love TDW.
Was half expecting you to add an infant on your chest for finding commie ghosts.
Death Stranding?
That's what I was thinkin'
This almost reads like a copypasta
I also carry four Epipens because I’m allergic to communism
Cargo pants always. 🤓
Ignorant Pede here.....what does EDC stand for? Every day carry?
Yusss
That slide is nice
Primarymachine.com
They did all the millwork and Cerakoting. Only thing left to do is get a stipple job done on the frame.
Trips to the mailbox in 2020 be like :
Lol!
Nice to know I’m not a weirdo carrying more than one knife
What's the thingy at the top right? I'm currently assuming it's some kind of trigger guard/holster since I don't see a holster anywhere else but I can't piece together how it works.
Its a discreet little cinch-pick style knife.
I thought it was a mini hatchet lol
CRKT minimalist bowie. I bought that same knife at wal-mart 9 years ago for $20 or so and used it every day for 7 years. I love that knife. The tip chipped off though and I lost the case for it somewhere so it was replaced with another style crkt
I carry the same pepper gel/spray. Works well to deter animals.
Only time I ever had to use my sabre red is on a couple of dogs that came into my yard and tried to bite me. I always have it on me and an extra close by.
I see chapstick so I know this kit is complete.
What, no tourniquet? >D
Nice. I have a similar setup with my P365.
How many pockets do you have? ;)
Anywhere from 7 to 8, depending on the pair. Some of that stuff goes in the work bag, but most is on my person.
You should try out the Nitrcore MT10C.
It's a lot more versatile than the EC65
I had a Nitecore SRT7 once, then I left it in an Xray machine I was working on. Went back for it but it grew legs.
Trust me on the MT10C.
Best EDC flashlight ever made.
Hey you found my knife!
We'll see the thing is I'm from the UK, but I was sailing to california with my entire knife collection on board and there was this rogue wave that came along.
Two knifes, no turnaquet.
mace and knife is a combo for any situation.
Just got the rite in the rain notebook. Pretty awesome!
Practically everything you carry is a weapon. Noice!
Whats the red thing
RFiD wallet. I haven't carried a traditional one in years.
Gen 4 19. Standard slide but I sent it in for the millwork.
What’s cannon balm?
It's a gigantic tube of chapstick. I thought it was comically large so I bought one. Now I'm actually glad I did!
I usually carry the CRKT M16. I just happen to grab the raptor claw today.
Pocket sand {not pictured}
How is that Duke Cannon lip balm?
I actually really like it. It's not flavored and it has a cooling kinda feel. Obviously it is obnoxiously large, but that's why I got it 😂
What's your deal?
How do you like the olight mini? I have the odin and baldr on rifles
It's a pretty good light. Holds a charge long enough without use. USB magnetic charging is nice.
*OCD edition
Take the tac light off your edc
What holster do you use? I have a PL Mini 2 also (for a XDS 45) and cant find a holster company that will customize to fit. Maybe you have it easier since you have a G19.
That's likely the case. You may want to look at Tier 1 Concealment, though they're ridonkulously expensive.
What? Appendix is the way. It's so fast. That being said I'm a thinner guy who frequently wears backpacks.
Pair some CQC with your EDC
god those knives are ghey
Unpopular opinion probably, but for the time being, can we implement a Sunday Gunday Megathread for all of these kinds of posts for the next few weeks? There are a ton of sticky worthy stop the steal posts in Rising that aren't being showcased because of all the SG posts.
(someone pointed out that you cannot post images in threads. Use https://maga.host/)
every freaking post, even those that aren't stickied. Spam.
every post that I posted this on was stickied at one point. fyi.
Your EDC is two karambits and a a camouflage painted pistol with a red dot and a laser? Larp much?
If by larp you mean had 2 deployments, then yeah, I larp.
Also one karambit. But hey, who cares about it but a few trolls right?
Karambit is the modern day butterfly knife for edgelords, and that red dot is not going to do anything but hamper you in a situation where you need your weapon quickly.
Thank you for your service, but to use it as a matter of justification is a logical fallacy.
Also, not a laser.
I wanted to make by gun look awesome. It's not for everybody, but I don't care. I'm an American and I wanted to throw money at it.
This right here is the correct answer. Here in the USA we pimp our gats because we fucking can.

Or, you can piss all the way off and take your Hi-point with you. Go back to Reddit with that attitude.

You call it a hit list all you want. Take your Hi-point and go home.

I am inclined to agree with you. There is absolutely nothing in that picture that is appealing to my eyes (IE good guns). How this “EDC” post ever got sticked is beyond me.
That isn’t a money clip, it’s a tactical brick
