I think the Janus decision only applies to "public sector" (i.e. government) employees. The logic is that public sector unions are inherently political, so being required to pay dues to them violates your right to freedom of association.

If you read the link it isn't the Janus decision. It's the 1988 Supreme Court case Communications Workers of America v. Beck.
