Same with the obamacre website.

NadlersPants 300 points ago +305 / -5 (edited)

I can tell some funny stories about the obamacare website. I know quite a few people that worked on it. There’s a reason it was a disaster.

Edit: Ok, seems I got a little interest so I’ll spill a bit.

It cost billions! And didn’t work.

There’s a few reasons for that.

A shitload of software developers (almost all I would bet) on this project were brand new - they were new graduates, but the companies they were working for made a bunch of fake resumes, and just chucked as many people at it as they could. They were billed at senior developer rates or higher - the prime contracting company took most of the fee and the government just kept throwing money at it.

Here’s a funny one - one of the guys I know did nothing but change the CSS colors. Billed out at probably 150 bucks an hour, for months, to just change a color. Work that could be done in seconds. Now, multiply that a few hundred times and you start to see how big of a racket this was.

So not only was this wasteful and fraudulently billed, but the company that was taking the money wasn’t even American. They had some American subcontractors, but the fact is the majority of the money spent on the project was just shuttled out of the country to foreign business owners.

Looking back on it and knowing what I know now, it was probably some sort of kickback scheme.

Diversity!? Olympics has NO focus on diversity, Diversity of Olympic competion arenas full of coloured poeple just happened to be a RESULT of NOT doing anything of interference.

Olympics's a Merit 100% world. The 8 fastest sprint Athelete gets chosen for the final date, no questions (except doping and gender irregularities) asked. Though where are the overweight 100m sprinter representation? None right?

BTW fun fact for any who care, all others please disregard, thanks:

Color has no U. The original English ending centuries ago for such words was -or. Then "elites" decided to fancy it up with a bunch of pussy-ass Frenchy spelling affectations, like adding a silent letter (the characteristic fetish of French spelling). Glamour, clamour, colour, endeavour, etc. Adding extra letters for the sake of it, like the pointless double X in "vaxxer" or "doxxing." LOL

2
RussianAgent13 2 points ago +2 / -0

That's true. Ironic then that they use the Olympics as a reason for why America performs so well in multiple sports and why we need diversity. Normies don't question it.

You are severely mistaken if you think DIEversity programs don’t exist in the olympics. Most nations have DIEversity programs to even get to that level, IE team USA etc. don’t think for a second they don’t.

It's definitely a positive when used properly. Forced diversity doesn't work. Organic diversity is how the planet has survived and thrived. There's nothing wrong with learning from other cultures. Trying to tell white people they are evil and force them out of jobs for lesser qualified minorities isn't diversity. Don't get the two confused.

I understand your point about organic diversity, but spell it out for the visiting soy shills.

15

Alright, here's a good example.

Organic Diversity = Christian Armies of the various states of the Holy Roman Empire, what was left of Hungary, and Poland-Lithuania voluntarily combining under the leadership of King John III of P-L to defeat the Ottoman Turks during the battle of Vienna in 1683. Staying power of heavily armored German knights combined with the agility and speed of the famed winged Hussars of Poland & Hungary. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Vienna

Forced Diversity = The Janissaries on the other side of the same battle.

3
Kavantar 3 points ago +3 / -0

They would fuck that up too. Probably outsource the counting to the Philippines.

15
540k-Again 15 points ago +16 / -1

Actually, just need to hand sort them by precinct and by say Trump/Pence vs evil/commies into two piles and weight them. Don't even need to count most of the time, bc the weight differences are small; and if a batch is nearly equal, that's okay too; bc it's the total weights that matter. if the total is close, then can count. but weighing takes like 1% of the time & money, so doing it first is best.

And to "check" a stack of Trump/Pence or evil/commie mini-piles just play Flip-Book on the ends, and any non-votes or opposite votes stand out quickly. So can check and recheck with different people, VERY quickly by hand.

PS sorting can be by hand easy enough, or can be done by simple machine (like the post office does for envelopes). the quick sort within a precinct into two piles goes Very fast too.

7
Jimmy33 7 points ago +7 / -0

Commie paper weighs more.

2
MehNahMehNah 2 points ago +2 / -0

I worked in a print shop when I was in college. The bulk weight of paper is actually a method of distinguishing differences in paper stock.

Small detail, like proper color of watermarks.

6
deleted 6 points ago +6 / -0 (edited)
2
Hairy_Mouse 2 points ago +2 / -0

That wouldn't work well. The difference in paper is small, but with a large amount it could vary a lot. Also, depending on what all was filled out on the ballot, the weight from ink or pencil could change individual ballot weights. Also, if some ballots happened to be fraudulent they could be a different weight, and would throw the weights off even more. Also, considering any damage, dirt, or spills on any ballots could change the weight.

When factoring all the small differences into large piles of ballots, it could vary more than you'd think. There's a trick for checking a scales weight. You throw a bill or a nickel on it. A bill is 1g and a nickel is 5g. You'd think they would be pretty consistent, I've seen them off weight plenty of times.

1
540k-Again 1 point ago +1 / -0

Most ballots are fairly pristine. Some % will have problems. Each "type" of ballot is generally separated into different piles anyhow (so the weights are about the same for each type.) Unlike coinage in circulation, most ballots haven't been around too long. And in fact it's easier the more there are in a pile; and if really want to get down to it, can like with paper money bundle them in stacks of 100's.

Having worked a Census, including at one of the processing centers that handled 60 million forms in a few months; and having worked many election polls; the weight method gives a good rough quicksort method. Like I said about 1% of the time and cost; so it can be done as a first rough draft, and depending on what the ratios are, lets further counting be done on subsets.

A mobile server is a portable server. It doesn’t have to be connected to the internet if they’re hardwired to it, it just needs data to be stored and is then sent back to Dominion. Physically or through a secure tunnel. Or it’s on an intranet system. Still though, a random crash? I doubt it. Not sure if anyone cares but I study this stuff, so it’s not outlandish to store data like this.

34
GEOTUSMAGA 34 points ago +34 / -0

Or instead, and hear me out, we could just count the ballots...

3
FalloutSeeker 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yeah I know. Again I am still against Dominion.

10
pithys 10 points ago +13 / -3

they wouldn't call it a 'server crash' if the local server wasn't working. It had to be over the internet

3
FalloutSeeker 3 points ago +3 / -0 (edited)

A crash can be related to anything regarding the server. It doesn’t have to be over the internet. Maybe if they told us the problem, but of course they wont. Intranet servers can crash just as much as internet servers. A server crash is called a server crash for a reason. But if you have experience in this area of study, I am open to correction.

5
SordidPontification 5 points ago +5 / -0

A server crash is called a server crash for a reason. But if you have experience in this area of study, I am open to correction.

If it legitimately crashed during a recount process when all you're doing is tabulating vote tallies, the software was shit.

Seriously.

This isn't hard to accomplish. Presumably the tabulators take totals and if they're using a remote host to aggregate the results, it shouldn't be that much traffic and it shouldn't crash. Even doing it with an HTTP endpoint that receives the count totals would only be a few tens of thousands of requests.

So, my conclusion is that it's plausible it wasn't a "crash" as much as the server may have stopped responding to requests. Which, again, would mean that they didn't either a) have enough bandwidth to handle the spike in requests or b) the software for whatever reason wasn't able to handle that many concurrent requests.

FWIW it's not that hard to have an application handle a fairly simple series of write requests (say storing figures in a database) to the tune of a couple thousand requests per second. That would almost certainly be more than enough to handle all the precincts in question. Which is why I don't buy this argument either unless the software is total crap. If they needed more capacity, they should be able to afford it.

The reality is there's probably something else going on.

3
FalloutSeeker 3 points ago +3 / -0

I understand what youre saying. I agree that if it stopped, it would more closely be related to bandwidth or a software problem. I think I am trying to think too hard into it as there it’s like trying to solve a ghost. I was just thinking that the remote host was just on-site in an intranet environment and that from a troubleshooting perspective, bandwidth shouldn’t be the issue. But again it’s all perspective. I was thinking the server flipped out but forgot about the software.

Sorry :( I feel hella uneducated considering I’m studying networking

1
SordidPontification 1 point ago +1 / -0

Basically what I'm saying is that this isn't hard. The fact Dominion is making this hard tells of two potential outcomes:

  1. They're lying.

  2. They're incompetent.

These are not binary options, of course. Both could be true. But the reality is that vote tabulation shouldn't be a difficult problem unless one or both of these conditions happens to be true. I'm leaning more toward #1, because it's almost certainly the case that Dominion is lying about this alleged crash.

I'm a software developer who primarily focuses on backend services, so I have experience with networking, protocols like HTTP, and interfacing with databases. Rest assured that when I say this isn't a hard problem, it's not a hard problem unless they're deliberately trying to cover up for something.

I wrote a post a while back about how the "ideal" voting machine should be developed. We have the technology to do this in a way that would be both auditable and secure. The fact that it's not suggests very strongly that it's a deliberate design to exercise control over the electoral system.

I'll repost my points here (with some modifications) so that readers don't need to click through to another comment. A secure voting machine should tick at least the following boxes:

  1. Any machine used to count should have its software entirely open source. It should be independently audited and should be entirely auditable.

  2. The entire toolchain used to compile that source should produce deterministic output. i.e. it should be possible to validate that input A produces binary B.

  3. The software should be entirely self-contained on a ROM. It should not be possible to modify the tabulator in any way after it has been imaged from the factory. It should also be possible to dump the ROM so that the image can be independently validated to match the requirements of #2.

  4. The machines should have only one external port: Power. No networking. No USB. Concessions could be made for USB or some other header to allow for writing the results to removable storage.

  5. Re-flashing the machine should not be possible.

  6. Any debugging interface (e.g. JTAG) should not have the ability to write values into the machine's RAM.

  7. The final output from the tabulator should use an onboard private key that generates a dump of the final tally. This would produce a specialized hash or encoded value that would then be uploaded to the state office. It could be validated against the public key for that machine (verification; signature generated by the machine's private key) and encrypted using the state's public master key, which would then decrypt the results with its private key.

We could then mandate, by law, that the results be released in their entirety and in a decrypted form. In fact, probably producing a signature + encrypted plain text + signature would be a better option for public validation since the public wouldn't have access to the private keys to decrypt the data. So that way you could validate both the encrypted data and the signature of the plain text.

As much as I hate to say "blockchain" because I think too many people point to it as a panacea, it might be useful to at least distribute the signatures on a blockchain, but I think this is overkill for the purpose.

Ideally, you would have the people running the tabulators only having access to a) reset the current tally and b) upload the final results from the tabulator that cannot be manipulated, because they'll be generated by the machine along with the appropriate signature. Clearly this doesn't obviate other issues such as people running Biden ballots through the machine more than once, but that's an issue with all vote tabulation systems (even manually) that has to be resolved by law.

And I think that last bit could be resolved by mandating that anyone who interferes with the election process, observers, etc., is shot on sight. But alas, one can dream.

4
pithys 4 points ago +4 / -0

I agree, we need more info to know for sure. But it's unlikely a local server is going to go down and no one on-site can fix it before they start reporting the whole recount is "delayed"

Dalewyn 4 points ago +5 / -1

Why can't a machine do its job without a "mobile server"????

I'm going to put aside the fraud and talk about this from a purely practical standpoint.

The reason is cost. Pure and simple. Full stop.

Compared to each individual machine having the hardware necessary to do the work themselves, It is far cheaper to invest in one powerful, huge server that does all the heavy lifting, and leave the actual human interface devices as dumb terminals built using the cheapest parts you can find from the bottom of the Friday Night Special box in a Chinese sweatshop.

9
drprepper 9 points ago +9 / -0

The heavy lifting is about as heavy as a #2 pencil.

3
Demsarepedos 3 points ago +3 / -0

The hardware needed to do the network is more expensive than the hardware to process a simple scan, tally, and print program.

3
spezisacuckold 3 points ago +3 / -0

Just saying, I agree with what you say but you can also have a local server intranet, so, not connected to the Internet. But that’s not what this is, especially since we have documented proof these devices connected to the Internet, to devices in foreign and hostile countries to boot.

2
theepic 2 points ago +2 / -0

intranets turn into internets when you plug in a $20 router or cellular modem

Yeah, they don't quite work the same after the Frankfurt data center was raided and servers seized

1
honkskillet 1 point ago +1 / -0

Exactly. Why is there a central server involved. Shouldn't the counting machines be disconnected from the internet?

Even if 10 millions patriots showed up to peacefully protest in these swing states and DC, it would make zero difference in the outcome. The left just saw 73 million votes cast for Trump, almost 10 million more than 2016. They know he has massive support, they just don't care.

No problem. They will discover a few thousand more votes for Biden...

MARTIAL LAW NOW!

9
Deplora 9 points ago +9 / -0

I don't think we need martial law, at least not at this point. We probably need SCOTUS to make one or more rulings that have the effect of taking the final stage of the election out of the electoral college's hands, and putting it into the House's one vote per state protocol.

3
superp321 3 points ago +3 / -0

You need to pull the band-aid and get it over with.

Too many glitches too much partisan judges too much everything.

8
FireannDireach 8 points ago +9 / -1

Nah. She tried to steal the state, but Kemp pushed her out of the way. She was raising a racket complaining about it last year. Kemp brought Dominion in last year, but if you look at his record, he's been accused of election fuckery long before that.

Abrams wishes she has that much power that her "machine" would get that done. She's trying to build to that level, and is doing a piss poor job of it. Kemp is dirtier than her, is all.

Those suckers were skipping over the ground. It would be the perfect tune em up device if it still ran. Tie it to thier legs and have 20-50 just bouncin along the ground. I reccomend some cactus or briar country with lots of rocks. Then untie em for the main event after some further questioning. Their not gonna abide by the damn law... fuck it. 16
Mainwar 16 points ago +16 / -0

How the hell does it need to be connected to a server to count a binary solution

13
MarquisBoniface 13 points ago +13 / -0

Because it needs to be able to count fractions as well as wait until the counts are large enough no one will notice a 20,000 slip, and the machines need to coordinate so they don't have a "glitch" simultaneously, duh

12
Benzy8919 12 points ago +12 / -0

How about you just count the fucking votes?!?! Like... What a concept!

1
veteran299 1 point ago +1 / -0

this is how elections should work..... ballots should be the same size as a dollar bill. one ballot for each candidate. after voting, all the ballots for one candidate are put in one pile. one pile for each candidate. all this is witnessed by dems and repubs. then a standard dollar counting machine counts the piles. then recounts the piles. then recounts the piles again.

11
thebest2020 11 points ago +11 / -0

It crashed because It was one sided for Trump yet again. Oh how fun for a glitch to appear when convenient. Dispatch techs so they can "fix" the machine while removing prior evidence of tampering.

I sure hope trump has some nice people in NSA that are siphoning it all in. But knowing the swamp runs deep I won't hold my breath on us having it that easy.

2

I hope this is the work of a hacker proving these machines can be hacked.

5
NetscapeNavigator 5 points ago +5 / -0

Could just as easily be the work of some brainlet tripping the fuse on a power bar with a space heater that also happens to run the "portable server".

Doesn't discount all other possible nefarious scenarios at all, but having worked in field IT, "the server crashed" is the layman's phrase for any problem that affects more than one computer.

It's yet one more reason for voting to be paper only. Any system too complicated for all involved to fully understand it is ripe for subterfuge.

2
Pancreaspants 2 points ago +2 / -0

Absolutely correct. But I'm still going to hope!

https://patch.com/pennsylvania/doylestown/last-ditch-efforts-reverse-pa-election-results-fail

"Meanwhile, in a last-ditch effort, some Republican state lawmakers on Friday drafted a resolution that would declare the results of the 2020 General Election "to be in dispute." It called the certification of results "premature" and urged the governor to withdraw the certification of presidential electors.

The resolution urged the United States Congress "to declare the selection of presidential electors in this Commonwealth to be in dispute."

However, it is impossible for Republicans to advance the resolution, leaders acknowledged Saturday.

The Pennsylvania House of Representatives will not be returning to voting session before the constitutionally mandated end of session on Nov. 30, Rep. Bryan Cutler and House Majority Leader Kerry Benninghoff confirmed in a joint statement.

"We are physically unable to consider any new legislation before the end of session. A simple resolution takes three legislative days for consideration and a concurrent resolution takes five legislative days to move through both chambers, which means we do not have the time needed to address any new resolutions in our current session," the statement said.

But Cutler and Benninghoff, in the statement, pledged that Republican efforts to "investigate the impacts of interventions by the activist Pennsylvania Supreme Court" and "confusing and conflicting guidance by the Secretary of State" will continue into the next legislative session.

"It is obvious Pennsylvania's election processes are in dire need of repair. Our work to ensure the chaos and confusion of the 2020 election are not repeated will continue in the next legislative session," the statement said.

The legislature's maneuvers were met with ridicule from Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman, who called it "nothing but a pitiful, desperate publicity stunt."

He tweeted: "They literally could introduce a resolution calling for a ham sandwich to be our state bird. This isn't going anywhere."
