The funny part is that the best solution would have been to intentionally let the virus spread as fast as possible and isolate the old and vulnerable. Within 1 month all of this would be over and everybody would have reached herd immunity.

If there are enough hospital beds in that area, the hospitals will by no means get overwhelmed.

If media executives wanted to scare the entire population into not driving their cars or not riding any motorcycles, just go and find the most overwhelmed trauma units of hospitals around the country. Go and find people who will tell you their stories of horrific accidents and horrific injuries. Show us 5 of those stories of people suffering from accidents every day. Do that for 4 months. And then you would have successfully scared people into only walking to their destination, riding bicycles, or taking a horse and buggy.
At this point, the coronavirus treatments are also very predictable. Go give the patients either some remdesevir, some HCQ, some Vitamin D, some Zinc, or some of that regeneron.
