Not too sure about this... SARS was a thing, almost a decade ago, caused by a Coronavirus. The name given to the disease was SARS-Cov or SARS-Cov-1. I don't know if the term COVID entered the lexicon then, could anyone enlighten me? It's possible, given that it's just an abbreviation for COR(ona) VI(rus) D(isease)
