I do believe we are as close to what Lincoln dralt with as we ever have been, except secession, they are going for full control. i know this, whatever Trump finds necessary to do, i am 100% behind him. But i think he is trying to exhaust every option of law, before anything Lincoln was forced to utilize as far as military involvement, fullscale.

Puerto Rico is being run directly by the Federal Fiscal Control Board, appointed by Congress, since 2015. Most of the membere are Republicans. They have full power of the purse over any government spending, full subpoena power, power to approve or disapprove budgets and any legislation that involves over $10K in spending (which is everything). So far they have accomplished jack squat. Our government ignores them and does what it wants.
