Why it is slow is that it is generating numbers from a database. It would be faster if it was a simple text file with all the numbers already there. But that makes it harder to change things. If you are just going to make up numbers. generation from a database run thru a specialized algorithm is very quick. It is invaluable when you are trying to get the numbers right when you are cooking the books. It took them 3 days to get the numbers they needed for the November 3rd Election.
