I think your self identity comes into play here. Some people base their self identity on how others see them. Likes on facebook/reddit updoots/ etc. The more you see yourself in relation to others, the more you can be swayed by propaganda.
Also, critical thinking skills. Schools no longer teach critical thinking, quite the opposite. a friend is taking a "critical thinking" class in college, and it consists of the prof pushing leftist propaganda and students using "critical thinking skills" to reinforce and confirm that propaganda as "truth".
People with a high level of self awareness that is accurate tend to have a high bullshit meter, and they also tend to not give a shit if their views are inconsistent with groupthink.
But the leftists have been actively brainwashing people for at least 40 years now, so you have 2 generations to look at at least. The initial group of recipients (my generation, the 50's and 60's kids) and their children. I have noticed that those of my generation that didn't get programmed have kids that are conservative, as mine are. Whereas those that fell prey to the whole free love/ antiestablishment bullshit and in some cases hippy bullshit raised their kids differently. Those kids are leftists and Antifa types.
That's just a basic off the cuff opinion on the issue. But there have been numerous studies on this (though finding them can be tough since governments use them for nefarious purposes). These people have been refining their techniques for longer than I have been alive, and I am 55 now.
You're right. I was blessed to be in small town conservative schools that made you question things and do the research. My boys are conservative as well. I teach the grandbabies not to believe what you told without facts. Do your own research. Be able to prove your statements
I think the population of earth is in varying states of consciousness. I am of the camp that nobody is coming to help, so if you are in a firefight or dangerous situation, you have to handle it yourself.
Some just go with the flow. They live basic lives low on reality and big on stuff that really does not matter. Some dont care. Some want the world to be a certain way like on TV. After that, I got nothing.
I do think it has to do with the questioning mind. I was always asking why? I also think it has to do with recognizing you don’t know everything. With that being said it is important to be open to investigating the things you don’t know.
I also think its comes down to question why you think the way you do. In order to ask why you are the way you are is a higher level of awareness. In my opinion. I always ask why about why.
You sound eerily like i was in my youth. "F the man" and not care about the popular kids. Maybe that is it, not to be heavily swayed or care what the fuck other people care.
Psychology teaches us that an organism will seek out pleasant stimuli and avoid painful stimuli. Now, substitute "ideas" for "stimuli." And you have the following axiom:
A person will seek out pleasant ideas and avoid painful ideas.
Now you see why garbage like "black lives matter" sells. It's painful to accept that your shitty situation is mostly your own doing. Why not blame someone else, and avoid that painful idea?
This is a good question, I wish we had answers. I always theorized it has something to do with ego. Make your target feel special and/or they are better than some other group or class. That's why they try to paint us as white supremacists. Of course we are NOT white supremacists, but its not about us, its about inflating the ego of liberals that what to feel special in world that makes them mediocre. That's just my two cents
I have experience with being lied to and gaslit. I had to learn to use common sense instead of blindly believing what "authorities" say, and take to heart "if it doesn't make sense, it's probably not true."
"Don't rock the boat" - most people in the US have it pretty well off, and when the media creates its monster, people just go with it because they hope it maintains the status quo and keeps their world stable, but little by little it is changing
I will sound crazy here but for me it was seeing ufos that turned me into a critical thinker and ultimately red pilled me. I knew what I experienced wasn't normal but everyone around me would try to explain what I was seeing away as mundane things I must have misidentified. One time I was on a cig break with one of those peoples wife when we had a dramatic sighting. She told her husband later and he got really upset about it. People are weird.
Spiritual, many refuse to believe in a creator and believe whatever a self proclaimed authority says with regards to anything that supports the premise that there is no god an government is our closest thing to a higher power
I was and still am exactly the same way. However, I always had respect for America. Our rebellious attitude easily goes the other way into full blown commie. I don't know what is yhe difference? I hated all authority from an early age but I never committed crimes or things of that nature.
My dad, who was military Intelligence, would always make me find my own answers when I had a question about something. Not because he wanted me to learn on my own... but because he had no clue himself. ;)

Awesome post. Still unraveling the threads as I type this response. You deserve an updoot and will take my updoot with pleasure
I got interested in how propaganda worked almost 40 years ago. I have been tracking it ever since lol. Everybody needs a hobby.
Questions are always shot down- always. We are taught that “this is the way” not “what do you think”
At home at school at church On TV at the mall
It’s the Matrix, bro. The Deep State or the Uniparty system. Pedowood. Fake News.
You have to question one of these systems in order to have a shot at breaking free

Thank you for letting me rant!

Its been taking place for a long time. Dont think it happens over night.

How many of you guys are on SSRI medication vs normies vs liberals/SJWs you know?
Start thinking of ideas as stimuli. Nothing more.

Because they arent ready to be unplugged from the system. They are so inerd, so hopelessly dependent on the system. They will fight to defend it.

You were born with the gift of clarity.

Different types of rebellion?
That's how I've felt my whole life. I never chased trends of any kind. Probably the same for many people here.
