Complexity is one of the most effective ways to hide fraud in any quantitative process. Any financial fraud or money laundering investigator knows that excessive complexity is a huge red flag. Complexity is always an increased risk factor, even when the authors of the complexity are not intending to commit or enable fraud, and thus should always be avoided when any less complex process is possible.

exactly! the second a company says "it's complicated" when being asked to trace a transaction, it's defalcation. case closed.

Reeeaaaaallyyy and yet Obama moved it into critical infrastructure so it would be possible to create a federal set of rules. Was it horrible of him to do that?
