It depends. Some friends can have significant character flaws and still be good friends otherwise. It depends how he treats him overall. Not wanting to admit you're wrong is a relatively common flaw.

After doctors realized putting everyone into respirators for weeks then once they removed the respirators their lungs were too weak to contract and expand on their own covid fatality rates went way down. Another aspect of this pandemic is how worthless the average doctor is when they have to tackle a virus or a disease they aren't sure on optimal treatment so they were essentially killing not treating for covid. Another aspect is how frightful people are of the virus, you see young people acting like they are dying because they got this virus because of the psychological believe that it's a deadly virus when it isn't. I bet most people that test positive for covid will only notice symptoms after the diagnose.
