Small note: the term you should have used is "infection fatality rate", which is deaths out of total infections. Case fatality rate is deaths out of hospitalizations. A bunch of infected people who had no idea or had mild symptoms reduces the IFR, but not the CFR. Basically, but I'm no expert.
