Well, as an AZ pede who was forced to vote by sharpie, I can attest to how much of a let down he is. Didnt think we'd have another Kemp on our hands pedes, but you know what I say? Good. Let the rats show themselves for who they are, we already know which way the final gavel is swinging; this is them just swinging for the fences.
Tucsonan here. On Election Day I was given a sharpie/felt-tip marker and refused to use it, demanding a pen. Poll worker was visibly upset with me but I was able to get a pen. A guy in another booth was actually given a red pen. Total shit show.
Back when I was enlisted, I had a drill instructor tell our entire flight that a pen should always be among the items were carried on our person, regardless of whether we were in uniform, on duty, or not.
I didn't vote in person in Arizona, I dropped my early ballot off at the drop box at my precinct, but reading all this shit about 'sharpiegate' makes me damn glad I nearly always carry a pen with me still. Wallet, phone, pen, eye drops, keys, knife, pistol.
Turned out to be fantastic advice. The only reason why I even thought about it was because my wife did a mail in that I helped with (it was her first time voting since becoming a citizen) and it had very specific instructions NOT to use a sharpie. I was lucky I was able to get a pen that day. Usually happen to have one on me, but didn’t at that time. I would have gone back home to get one, but it would have sucked to have to wait in line for another hour or more. It was still amazing to see the turnout. I showed up around 5:50 am and there were already 100+ people in front of me waiting outside.
