I have to say, in my life, the one prayer that the Lord has always answered in immediate and overwhelming fashion was to ask the He give me the peace of His Holy Spirit. A supernatural calm. It has gotten me through so much. I will ask He do the same for you now so you may be strong for your wife.
Very true. When we had our miscarriage I was there for my wife in every way possible. I got her home from the doctors office following the D&C (missed miscarriage at 6 weeks), made her comfortable, brought her food and water and then went to go pee and instead found myself sitting on the bathroom floor crying for about 5 minutes. Gathered myself up and went back to my husbandly duties.
