The cognitive dissonance starts right with their name “liberals” It’s all downhill from there. This is exactly what led me away from being a liberal about five years ago, the cognitive dissonance was destroying my mind and making me depressed. It’s like living every day thinking that the sky is green and it’s your fault. These people are fucking insane and should go to hell, I used to feel sorry for them but quite honestly they should all be lined up and shot. Things have gone too far
Thank you for this comment about your experience. I have a lefty relative and have seen her literally have a nervous breakdown after an afternoon of exchanging differing political views. No arguments at all. Just a conversation. It was amazing to see her slowly become more and more agitated and then a mental breakdown. Ended hospitalized. Of course we were all devastated because this is a person we love. We believe the cognitive dissonance was too much.
You are so right about the feeling depressed. I think she does too. It is as if they are through their political beliefs denying themselves the right to be happy.
Yes. They kept me and my sister from spending time with our mother on her last moments of life.
