Running one of the top 466 websites in the US is no easy task fren.
The mods do all of this stuff as a volunteer effort and are not only doing the work but funding this website by themselves. Cut them some slack. This site is not run and controlled by a megacorp with the proper resources and workers to make sure everyone gets shit done and goes home by 5pm with cushy paychecks.
TDW is a grassroots effort and I know the mods are doing all they can.

It's my understanding that they can't take any from of donations.
If they were able to take money, that would be enough to get them doxxed.
If you get the mods doxxed, the site is likely to become compromised.
That's the rationale I've seen when other people explain it. I'm sure the mods all have firearms to defend themselves, but we can't really afford any potential harm coming to them.
The cancel culture zombie mobs will work even harder to destroy us if they can figure out who our key targets (mods) are that would cause the site to become crippled.

If you PM'ed the mods and wanted to provide work support, they would probably vet you pretty hard before giving you any access to their codebase.

So you would probably need to make it past their vetting before anything.
But it's always worth dropping them a PM and trying it out, especially if you have the extra bandwidth.
