Complete free speech has no chance to go mainstream. Parler is a valuable alternative to the tech billionaires growing control of information and narratives. Its not the end-all, be-all, for everyone, for every situation social media app. But its better right now that the other options.

Parler has a lot of users who use mobile app, which means the site is likely higher ranked than it looks.
If everyone on T_D installed the spyware toolbar, this site would be ranked in the top 10 sites in the world pretty quick. They estimate site traffic knowing that all users are not going to have the extension installed, so if everyone had it installed, it would skew it.

I have this thing where I stop doing things that are completely ineffective. I don't keep sending out tweets that no one sees. Just call me practical.

It's a shame it's such a bad site. It's just not meme friendly and the notification system sucks and it's just a lot of people promoting their books and podcasts. Not as bad as Gab though.

Not in my view they're not. I refuse to have anything to do with Parler for just this reason. Mobile phones are Big Brother tracking devices that YOU pay for. You literally pay a subscription fee to slap on your own chains.
If/when it becomes an open platform, it'll really explode in popularity.
I mostly use it just to give them some traffic. Good content and all. It's just hard to spend time on any site or app that isn't .win.

Gab is the real alternative, parler is twitter 2.0.
Parler deleted my account with over 4 thousand followers and didn't even tell me why. All I did was post voter fraud. When I email them, all I get is bot responses, no actual human to talk to. Could be a great site, but I It's just not at the moment. TD is a lot better for information.

The current growth curve started at November 6th. For many people the censorship of the election fraud discussion was the tipping point. It certainly was for me. I had an account since August (after Stefan Molyneux was censored), but I only recently became active, because of COVID and election censorship.

Hate to be a Debby downer on this but Parler doesn't seem to be your friend either. I've made multiple posts that have never made it to my board. First was related to covid. The second was related to why on earth would Georgians go to the runoff when the Republicans are sitting on the fence regarding the election. The latter was a call to action to get Republicans to get off their asses and support the president. So yeah their claim that they are for free speech seems to be a thin vanier covering the fact that they censor thought as well. Granted it's not as bad as twatter and facefook but we aren't where we need to be yet.

I keep having to do cell phone authentication. Won't even take email authentication. You are only supposed to have to do it once, but they love me so they keep asking for my phone.
