The game is different after the election. We don't have to stand down anymore and they know that. Direct action will earn direct response. Besides... do you really think that the National Guard is going to protect Antifa from the Proud Boys, 3-percenters, and the Trump Battalion? Me: I don't think so. They will keep the governor's mansion from accidental combustion... that's about it.
They won't call out the Nat'l. Guard; they can't trust them. At that point they likely won't be able to trust the state and local law enforcement.
More like the goon squad will be re-activated and given the green light to do their worst (which we haven't seen yet and hopefully never do). Nat'l. Guard will not be called up; police will be ordered to stand down -- we'd see if they obey, as by that point the realities on the ground would be very different than they are today.
I'd be expecting/prepared for a "terrorist attack" sort of incident as well...and I consider what Rad says in the comments here to be included in that.
