They already have. They are regulatorily owned by Europe and China despite their business ownership.

We know from other business cases that businesses always kiss ass to the biggest, baddest regulator to the point of allowing the bigger regulator to regulate foreign business.

The biggest baddest regulator is China. It's hard for them to reconcile with China, but the EU is the next biggest regulator of US tech companies. The EU has actually stated that their laws apply to Americans who have never left the USA, as well as Europeans, despite that making literally no sense. They can't go after Americans in American court, but they can bully American companies into regulating American conduct if those companies do business in the EU.

The big tech companies are regulating Americans to appease EU regulators. It should be investigated by anti-trust laws, but the US government does not have any procedures in place to prevent US companies from becoming zombie corporations for foreign regulators.
