It does not seem to be common knowledge what the Insurrection Act actually allows the President to do.
It is far, far more than merely establishing martial law, and any foreign or domestic threat can be used to trigger it.
As currently constituted, the insurrection Act is a Pandora's Box that ought to be kept closed and dismantled. In the hands of a lesser man, it could easily used to establish a dictatorship.
That's not hyperbole - that's what is contained there now.
That said - it has come to the point where I would openly endorse President Trump taking up this power and cleaning house across the board.
