I was just talking to a moderate friend yesterday and I remember mentioning some recent politics to him. He responded saying "oh you're taking the contrarian position. How surprising (sarcasm)."
It was at this moment that something dawned on me. Literally every single one of my views in life is a minority position or counter to the mainstream. Contrarian one could call it almost. To me that's unsettling because I realized things would be so much better if I lived in a society where my values/beliefs were the mainstream. I swear we used to have that. 60 years ago, my views would have aligned with the mainstream. I just feel like the last 60 years of "progress" has actually been total decadence. I'm not even old either, I'm 32yo and was raised on all these "progressive" ideas but then realized they were all a joke and lies as I got older.
Will our society ever escape this reality covered in a veil of lies that has been fed to us?

CNN, Hollywood, actresses and performers do not set the mainstream, they deliver the false narrative that they are the mainstream.

Among thinking people, yes. However, there are A LOT of people that just coast through life without ever thinking, constantly distracted by one thing to the next without ever stopping to think. These people are controlled by the CNNs and Hollywoods.
I get out LOTs. I'm constantly joining new social groups, meeting new people, trying different avenues to mingle with people. I can safety tell you that I am not mainstream.
I do agree with what another person said. Most of my beliefs are simply the truth. Most people understand the truth at some implicit level but they refuse to accept the truth. So in some regards I am the mainstream because everyone is aware of my views but in terms of acceptance and living accordingly, I am not the mainstream.
i stopped stating my positions a loooooooong time ago, instead i just point out the hypocrisy of theirs, the ones with a good sense of humor remain my friends, the others fuck off to some unknown place but i have it under good assumption that it's called disneyland or something akin
As someone almost 60 years old I can tell you that 60 years ago you likely would not have had such a conversation. Back then no decent, civilized person talked about politics in public or in mixed social situations. Also, sex, money, and religion. Outside of your closest friends and family, and sometimes even within your family and friends circle, those subjects were strictly taboo.

And yet look at the dystopian shit hole we now inhabit. All the things you and I remember from back then like the common courtesies extended to others simply no longer exist.
They have been destroyed by narcissism, by "being yourself", by being "loud and proud", which is all a thin mask to hide the crippling low self esteem most modern people have.
I posit this is all by design. The worst and most base behavior, on Facebook and in the public sphere, is almost celebrated as "being real". I notice that the Elites promote this base and vulgar behavior, almost as if they seek to gain something from it. Hmmm....

This is a good point but it's also implicit in the way people live there lives. 60 years ago, how many blue haired social workers with masters degrees in woke and septum piercings who acted like they were God's gift to mankind existed? Hippies weren't mainstream afaik and they weren't nearly as bad as what we have today. Even if you don't talk politics, sex, money or religion, you don't need to because just the way someone composes themselves, talks to others and treats others gives it all away.
True. Hippies were rare outside of a few places. And they knew they were not conforming to the norms most people upheld, so they tried to be pleasant and charming and fun. Also, they were mostly eccentric individualists who wanted everyone to fly their freak flag high and let everyone do their own thing. They weren't controlling moral scolds like the current left.
Not unless we find room for God in our society again.
I grow weary of people having very strong opinions but who are unable to defend those opinions, and then expecting me to respect them.
It's all people, but I see a critical mass in the young, and wealthier nonworking women and females overall. I'm expected to take them seriously simply because they exist, or something.

I do find this extremely infuriating. This huge ego makes a lot of people tough to connect with. People would stand to gain a lot by learning some humility regarding their opinions/beliefs.
Humility is the opposite of high self esteem, friend, and these people are lashing out, as a lifestyle, to shelter their egos, which are not robust and hardy.
Some will awaken, some won’t. What’s becoming very clear is we are going to have a very difficult time coexisting with those who won’t, can’t, or don’t.

I dont think we will ever get out of the hole that the left is trying to dig us into but our beliefs are anchored, for the most part, in truth. We leave room for opinion and rationalization but ultimately our opinions are based on the truth. We have to hold fast to that
I'm 31 and idk how I escaped the woke shit growing up but I literally never really picked up on it till like 2 yrs ago. I didnt even wake up to world events until the 08 crash and then learned how to bug out, etc. I heard a George Carlin snippet from the 70's where he was pointing out the language changing to be more soft. So apparently this has been going on for a long time. I guess now it's just coming to the surface from the internet.
With that said, all these woke ideas are insane. I am literally trying to get as much info as I can. Listening endlessly on my headphones to all that I can. And I take in left leaning sources till they lie about 3 times and will stop listening. Salty Cracker has been the biggest break through and listened to him for like 6 months and his deep dives are very informative. Sinatra_says is good too. Styx, akkad, rubin even. Chrowder and others. Pakman is too disingenuous.
Succession will be the only way. I know, accuse me of being a doomer - but unless Trump shows solid proof, not just mathematical proof, the Supreme Court may vote 5-4 to invalidate votes but the decision will haunt him for the next four years and we'll lose half the country (I know, lost already.) He needs to drop the moabs/declass and turn as many people around as possible as soon as possible.
The problem with that is that they still won't allow you to live in peace in your own country, they will immediately work to subvert or conquer your new country unless they are destroyed.
All I can say is there are a lot of people that have woken up to the same thing. But there are just as many that want to blame their problems on others and think communism is the answer to our fucked up world.
I'm your age. In real life we are still mainstream. All my same age peers in my personal circle are focused on working to raise their families. Plenty of our age stay at home moms or part time working mom's with blue collar husband's and 2.5 kids. No body wants to be taxed into poverty or have their ability to defend their home and family taken away. They all hate the loss of freedom from Covid. The only left wing peers I know are from college and they are all getting married, buying homes and making babies too. All the really left wing ones have been oddly silent this election season, sometime I wonder if they are slowly becoming red pilled as they buy property, pay taxes, and have children?
A lot of them likely do become redpilled simply because it works to their benefit.
If you actually evaluate how our State laws work, you'll see that they benefit single young women the most or any group. The way our social structure is, public institutions, careers, culture, Hollywood, etc... everything is benefiting the single young woman the most. Once women gain some age and especially a husband, they start to realize a lot of things in society are working against families and men. Once a woman is married now the man's interests are her interests because it's the family's interests (which is why family is such an important dynamic because it brings balance to the gender war).
Here's some voting stats. You'll see that married women voted about the same as married men and for Trump. The real detractor is single women who voted predominantly for Biden. This ties into my earlier paragraph to give some support to what I was saying. The left has weaponized single women against society, which is why so many policies (education, career, hollywood, social values/customs) promote women being single.
