This is probably the best overview I have read yet. I've wondered how Trump could still be surrounded by these people despite the obvious knowing what was coming. Im not hoping for some magical 7d chess move as I'm just trying to square the facts. There are obvious traitors afoot, and it just seems like Trump is blind to them (or as you put it, he is stuck with them)
Its not that Trump is blind to them. He's been in this game on the sidelines for most of his adult life. He knows these people whore themselves out for money and positions. He even talked about how both parties would show up at his events. Talk him into giving them money.
The problem is convincing not the hard core of his base, but the other 30-40 million Republicans that people like McConnel, Romney, Hailey and such are just as bad as Pelosi, Schumer and AOC. Mind you out of those 30-40 million, you got half that number that hold their nose to vote for Trump because he's a Republican, they dislike him due to being big "meanie" and has "ex wives" (even though their local pastor is probably a 3 time divorcée, and is probably into some weird ass kinks that would make them clutch their pearls). We've heard it a lot that he doesn't talk like a President, then again that's not in the damn constitution either.
That's what the issue is and as to why when we try to fumigate the damn party we end up barely making a dent. Too many pearl clutching moralists and drones that listen to anything Faux News tells them.
