I put people in these categories:

1. The wicked. These people are genuinely manipulated by Satan. They have sold their souls in a very real sense. They have no control over their actions because Satan has fully grasped control of them. Unfortunately, there's not much you can do with these people except pray that God can change their hearts, Paul-style.
2. The ashamed. These people did something they are grossly ashamed of and are being blackmailed to act. They need to come clean, suffer the consequences, and then change and live a better life through Christ.
3. The greedy / lustful. These people want something and they think the only way they can get it is to participate in obviously wrong things. They don't realize that making deals with the devil never works. They will eventually grow up to realize that there is no satisfaction of your desires in life, and only serving God can fulfill that empty hole in your heart.
4. The foolish patriots. These are the people who think they know better than the people, and who conspire together "for the good of the people." They are really tyrants, but are too blind to see it.
5. The cowards. These people know that something is wrong but are more worried about losing their jobs or lives rather than doing what is right. When it is time to fight, they flee. They often claim to be pacifist but in reality, they only want to let other people die so they can live.

The ONLY class of person who is able to overcome all the above are those who have chosen TRUTH above all. These people, like Oliver Cromwell of old, are guided by a fierce and uncompromising attitude devotion to God. To them, God isn't fictional or imaginary, and demands very real sacrifices on behalf of his people, without any guarantee of reward in this life.

BE RIGHTEOUS. BE HONORABLE. DEVOTE YOUR LIFE TO GOD.

The only alternative is becoming subject to the devil.
