It's based on the same open source project as chrome. Except, with chrome, Google takes the open source base and tacks on a bunch of extra stuff to track you everywhere.
Brave chooses to go to the opposite extreme, enabling by default all of the privacy protections you'd want. There's even a mode which fires up TOR for really private browsing.
But what made me bring it up here is the revolutionary model they are testing for monetizing web content. Instead of each page you visit showing you ads, the browser occasionally offers you one.
If you're too busy, or not interested, you can ignore (or you can set it not to bother you at all). Or, you can take a look at the ad. If you do that, the brave advertising network credits you with some tokens.
Then, you set your browser to distribute your collected tokens as you see fit. I think by default, it does it according to which sites you spend the most time on, but you can alter it.
The long and the short of this is that the user gets to decide what content should be monetized with the money paid to attract their eyeballs, not some "totally neutral" content police.
Could be yuge, if enough people get in.
I think we here can all understand why this is important.
Give it a swing, pedes.
PS- I'm not affiliated with them at all. I just discovered it last week, and think this stuff is important.
I haven't looked into their political leanings... But the tech is designed to break central control over your information, so I'm in.
I second the notion that Firefox is a trash heap of mismanagement. Crack open the processes menu some time and take a gander of just how much memory the thing is allocating.
You'd think you were trying to get Biden to remember his 10 minute speech with how much memory is being moved around and misappropriated.
For real. The sheer number of ways Firefox infuriates me nowadays, with their removal of useful features, stupid redesigns, total contempt for their users...
Can confirm, have been using Brave since it was early beta. The idea of the user deciding where their monetisation goes is an excellent paradigm shift.
Newsmax head took in a million from the Clinton foundation and they continually blueball a lot of the most important information.
They are suspicious at this point -- and maybe a fallback controlled opposition since Fox decided to commit seppuku.
OANN - One America News Network seems to be more trusted, but their coverage is spotty and they don't have as much resources (probably a good thing for their reliability at this point).
These people are journalism in its purest form. They cover relevant events, in totality, without interruption. When they do commentary it's heavily slanted towards simple and clear, factual information. Their biases are clear, but they don't strife to push propaganda or create false narratives. They're incredibly refreshing.
A lot of learning under fire. I don't know how many camera peeps they have now. During a rally a while back, it was mentioned that several camera guys were Auburn sports videographers. I don't think any of the on camera folks had any experience until a recent few. Starting from nothing, they've built something that is certainly playing a part in saving the nation.
Some of their reporters are bleh.. but if you look at it today compared to what it was in 2016.. it's came a long way. They'll keep getting better and the amateurism will become professionalism.
I was just thinking like 39 seconds b4 I saw this that we need A montage of the clips from all the most important testimony. If I didnโt have a job I would do it.
Thats Patriot Level Journalism
Spot on. Real Journalism Lives! Shall we call them Lazarus?...lol
Rise! Rise up Lazarus!
My old man bought a two pack and gave me one. ๐
Nah, call them Wolverine!
Genius level marketing
Truly S-Tier marketing. Genius.
Right Side (of history) Broadcasting Network.
Yeah sponsors means your accountable, but unfortunately needed unless you fund it yourself
Check out the browser "Brave".

Agreed with Brave: it's the way of the future, as Firefox is being run into the ground by absolutely terrible management.
I thought that was opt-in with Brave.
It is. But I'm encouraging it's use.
Youtube can't demonitize Crowder if you have control of where the money goes.

Switched to brave months ago haven't looked back
Why don't some of you like Newsmax? They seem to be more pro trump than Fox.
Newsmax head took in a million from the Clinton foundation and they continually blueball a lot of the most important information.
They are suspicious at this point -- and maybe a fallback controlled opposition since Fox decided to commit seppuku.

They're just a new Fox. Controlled opposition. They're on our side for now.
Santa will be good to you RSBN. You're one of the good ones.
NEWSMAX has broadcast the no evidence and president-elect Joe crap. They haven't fully derailed like Faux, but they've pulled some non-maga bs.
RSBN, OAN, Infowars, Epoch Times, and TDW.Win are the TRUTH SEEKERS!
I like how you left out Newsmax, theyโre Fox in disguise.
Yea fuck newsmax.

Amazing what the news should be.
Excellent! This is what we need to see among so many fence-riders and flip-floppers.
I always wanted Trump to give them a shout out at the rallies but he never did.
Their coverage of rallies was great! But all of this extra coverage is pure gold journalism.
I just wish they would get better cameramen

Absolutely amazing!!! Thank you RSBN!!!
RABN - Real reporting
Make clips of their videos and spread them around all of the networks! Redpill everyone!
RSBN is great. Real America's Vice is great too.
RSBN are Patriots
That's why I bought $270 worth of towel from MyPillow and used their code. RSBN =) Oh and Liz Willis is HOT!
god bless them
Paradigm shift. Real media.
Damn straight! They deserve more credit from our President. They literally documented the history of his campaign.
love these guys
I was just thinking like 39 seconds b4 I saw this that we need A montage of the clips from all the most important testimony. If I didnโt have a job I would do it.
RSBN ROCKS!
Class defined!
Agreed, always high quality media!
RSBN AWAKENED ME FROM MY SLUMBER!!! HOLD THE LINE, PATRIOTS, AND START TO ADVANCE!!!! ๐บ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ
Okay, any small doubts about RSBN went out the window.
That's it, I have a new favorite.
Wow! Doing Godโs work!
Super KEK
War Eagle
Plus its free advertising. Works out for everyone.
They just earned my loyalty.
Statements shouldn't earn your loyalty. Focus on their actions and content.
Very true, thx.
RSBN we love you!
Unlike Newsmax and its Clinton supporting owner.
