I can post the video recording of my desktop, but please try if you use Firefox. I want to confirm it's not a plugin or some other type of DNS poisoning.

Give Brave browser a try?
Yep, I've been using Brave on my desktop for quite some time now. And have the app on my phone and made it the default browser
Other browsers don't behave the same, so yes, not DNS poisoning. It's specific to Firefox.
Turn off search suggestions (or change your default search engine) as iirc those are provided by whatever default search engine you are using.
You are correct. It is a search suggestions problem.
Isn't the auto-complete based on search engine, which defaults to google?
I'm using Duckduckgo and if I type Projectveritas into the address bar, it will display a real link to the site. As an OP said, change your default browser. Google=EVIL.
can confirm
Okay, just to finish this off. Firefox installs with Google as a default search suggestions auto-complete. I don't remember ever having that turned on before. It also included a checkbox that said "Show search suggestions ahead of browsing history in address bar results". Both of those are now turned off. DuckDuckGo is now my default. Thank you for all the suggestions.
I just visited projectveritas.exposed and it's fucking hilarious. Just a bunch of butthurt libs mad that James O'Keefe ruined their reputations. Their page on him is great.
Thank-you for the information.
Firefox is mega-cucked. Their HQ (Mozilla) is in San Francisco and they fired their CEO for supporting California Proposition 8 (banning gay marriage).
