Buy sufficient quantities of ammo, but then start buying alllllll the other shit you probably don't have.

Being one of those tardasses with literally 15,000 rounds of 5.56mm isn't going to do you much good. Either you're planning to have a siege inside your house, in which case they'll burn it to the ground, or you're going to have to go mobile, and you're probably going to have a hard time moving all that ammo and end up leaving it.

I'm not sure what scenario these people envision, but I have a couple thousand rounds of my common calibers in three ammo cans, and I've been investing the money into other shit. Food, good camping supplies, good backpack, outdoor gear, etc.

If you're investing in food and gear, you must be envisioning some siege scenario in your house, in which case they will either burn it to the ground or, you are going to have to go mobile and leave it behind.

15k rounds of 5.56 is about 12 ammo cans worth, not a pallet load. I also imagine that it has appreciated in value more than your camping gear has.
