NUCLEAR LAUNCH DETECTED

You son of a bitch.

Never begin a post with that wording unless there's ACTUALLY a fucking country launching nuclear missiles. I almost had a heart attack lol.

South Koreans have actually killed each other over Starcraft matches. Before League of Legends came along it was practically their national sport.

I just started playing through the HD version of RA and holy hell.. the first line by Kane in there...

"He who controls the past, commands the future. He who commands the future, conquers the past."

Fuck if that isn't extremely relevant/foreboding right now.

I have heard an opinion that 230 itself is not the problem infact 230 gives websites like this the protection from being sued for what we post. So forums are not responsible for their posters and thus do not need to censor/curate their users. But, if you are an editorial site, ie paying the people who post, then you are responsible for the posters.

Not exactly sure what the 230 rules are, but there might need clarification or reform to adjust for sites that curate their content. But, I have a feeling that sites like this rely heavily on 230, if we loose 230 out-right this site will be taken out long before the facebooks and twitters are.

Loiuzein 28 points ago +28 / -0

230 says that IF you are a platform, THEN you are not held accountable.

Twitter and Facebook are NOT platforms. They are Publishers, which means they are choosing what can be said. Therefore they have no standing under 230.

Because spineless cucks refuse to enforce 230 against T&F, 230 must be completely destroyed to send a message.

It's an extremely bad outcome. The correct action was to enforce 230, but no one did. Just like the correct action was to audit the votes, but no one did.

That also happens on this site.. Lefties are ejected all the time.

I'd argue that's different, on account of the person being forbidden from using the service due to violating a rule, whereas Facebook and Twitter just yeet people, without any rule ever being broken.

"bUt wE rEcOunTeD!!!"

if tally is based on fraudulent ballots, then recount will be equal, and just as filled with the same fraudulent ballots.

we need actual fucking audits already. These crooked cronies are doing every option possible to not allow anyone to do full, actual audits on legitimacy. It's disgusting.

It wouldn’t be a problem if our politicians weren’t doing kabuki theater.

Now how can we fuck Bezos up with this is my real question. I refuse to live under an amazonian empire.

1
Loiuzein 1 point ago +1 / -0

Antitrust and anti monopoly, profiteering during time of emergency, or just old fashioned tar feather and rail.

Gain power in transport or government, forbid Amazon from operating in your area.

Undercut their prices. Loudly boycott suppliers who work with Amazon.

This is correct.

[we can remove illegal and] otherwise questionable content

those are the only 3 words that would need to be deleted, BUT, congress are traitors, FCC Ajit Pai is a traitor, everyone is a traitor, so just remove it, it'll hurt everyone but hurt (((them))) the most

If Section 230 was repealed Facebook's stock might actually go up.

Twitter will never, ever be solvent. That's why they were so easy to compromise. It's why Jack is so cucked. He is not in control of his company in any way.

1
TrumpVictorious 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yep, it would suppress competitors.

1

This is unpopular I'm sure, but big tech is gonna love this.

Because they utilized its benefit to grow, and now they have enough users and money where it really doesn't matter if they are sued. New start ups don't have either of these benefits, so they will be vulnerable, which coincidentally the big tech can exploit to get rid of websites they don't like. Whether they are a direct competitor, or simply a provider or some other service.

What we should do is instead of getting rid of 230, simply enforce it as it was intended. Give it some teeth, and when companies violate the spirit of the law, they lose those protections, permanently. It should basically be a status that a company has, like how a person has the right to vote until they commit a felony.

Because the military will confirm what we already know. Foreign interference in the election included social media companies.

It sets the stage for the executive order on election meddling. Military will argue that big tech was part of the interference apparatus and will support the veto.

no one is going to turn down a trump veto when he owns the republican party right now, rinos are going to get primaried hard

Personally I don’t care if it destroys the internet entirely. Fuck it. The human rights of nearly every person on this planet have been violated, largely due these tech oligarchs behind the scenes machinations. I love this place but that’s about it. Fuck the internet.
