Dropping the Assange Extradition charges would repair Trump's reputation amongst the thinking left throughout the world. It is well overdue.

Progressives need to think of themselves as the champions of compassion. They want to think of Trump as evil, heartless, racist, brutal etcetera. Freeing Assange does not fit that narrative.
A few might buy the Russia narrative but not so many as you might think. They are nowhere near as great in number as we have all been led to believe.
Normal society has been far too tolerant and accepting of their spoilt child routine. Fortunately, I think we have all come to realize the hell this leads to now.
As for Assange, it is not only the right thing to do, it's a classic wedge move where Assange's freedom leaves Trump's opponents nowhere to go. The Russia narrative has already become a hackneyed joke.
FYI Several UN courts and Human Rights bodies have strongly condemned the UK government treatment of Assange. This action would divide the Globalists.
