No. It's just a paper, biggest misconception on this site. It would be a huge leap to get someone prosecuted for a fake one.

Not sure what your source is but I'm not seeing that or hearing that anywhere else. I'm hearing it's perjury, which is a serious crime.

Only perjury if its sworn to a court. These are just what's called witness statements and there not even being made to government employees.

Dude. Witness statements and affidavits are different things. I asked if he signed an affidavit. An affidavit is always done under oath. "An affidavit, derived from the medieval Latin and translated as β€œhe/she has declared upon oath,” is a written sworn statement of fact made voluntarily under an affirmation or oath. "

Wrong. An affidavit holds the same exact force and duty when made before a notary as a sworn oath in a court of law.
