USCMJ restricts or limits how an individual may advocate on behalf of a candidate. There are certain rules, so don't expect uniformed protests. Also don't expect to hear, "as an active service member I oppose this or that". It's against rules and regulations.
"President elect" is not declared until votes are submitted by the Electoral College. Military does not obey orders from president elect, only from incumbent.
The Top Brass reports directly to the CiC. Enlisted and officers follow the chain of command.
I usually don't say I am veteran unless its a topic like this in which I can shine some light based on my limited knowledge. Also, it just feels weird when people say "thank you for your service". I appreciate the sentiment though.
