The key is calorie count consumed vs. burned. Fasting, diets, schemes only work if they cause a calorie deficit. Do you count calories?

Your body may have trouble determining when to burn carbs vs fat. Try low carb, not zero carb. The body needs carbs to survive and zero carb diets can be very dangerous and counter productive. The goal is to get your body to start using its fat reserves for energy instead of cycling through the carbs you eat then crashing

I'm sorry, but this is just not true. Carbs literally fall into the category of nonessential nutrients, unlike fat and protein which are both essential. Only babies need some external carbs (hence breastfeeding, in which the baby gets milk which has lots of natural carbs), but certainly not adults. The liver (except for babies) actually creates the amount of glucose your body needs without you needing to consume any carbs. There are lots of "zero carb"/carnivore individuals who have been going for 10, 15, 20+ years who not only do not have any related medical problems, but are doing exceedingly well compared to the average person. Nutrition studies over the decades have been infected by grain and sugar companies and vegan groups, and hence there is a lot of bias. But also many of the methodologies used in nutrition studies are absolute garbage for actually figuring out the effects of nutrition.
