Arent' they? There was an article back by some education researchers talking about how black kids should be held to a lower standard and allowed more time to figure things out. I read it expecting something about food deserts or lack of parenting or the stress of being a poor persecuted minority, but nope, they just basically said black kids take longer to figure things out because on average they're dumber.

I got kicked out of school and sent to an ALC. Mostly teen moms, goths and minorities. I could tell they were grading me different from the others and when i asked about it they said it was because 'we expect more from you.' That was my first introduction to inconvenient double-standards and also the bigotry of low expectations toward minorities.

I love how "we expect more from you" is logically identical to "we expect less from them," yet somehow they don't realize this.
