Oh, yes, because the $4.00 gas prices were completely sustainable...

Cars run on gas, and until Lithium Ion Batteries don't take poisoning an entire Chinese family to make (not gonna happen), they are gonna stay that way. China only has so many children to poison in order to make the things.

Since nearly all cars/trucks run on gas; if you up the price of gas, you up the price of transportation, and finally you up the price of everything that needs to be transported -- simple economics.

You want to make everything cost more AND deal with the Covid stimulus inflation that's gonna hit pretty soon?

The traitor might as well be drafting the lease to China as we speak.

Batteries will get there eventually, tech is always improving. But reality is, unless we hit a miraculous discovery of how to do that, we got decades to go on that.

But that is nowhere near why they're pushing it now. They want you reliant on their cheaper versions of tech, and the ability to limit your self governance. This is nowhere near about making things more sustainable and efficient. It's power.

The unfortunate truth is that the tech is actually at a standstill.

You ever wonder why the research plants under the Obama admin. all went belly up? It isn't because they ran out of funding from the government to do research (most of which just went straight to the heads of the company instead of to research) but because they ran out of things to research. So much so that they couldn't even fake it.

You can only milk so much energy out of Lithium before it buckles and loses its zero-point or becomes an unstable bomb. Production of the batteries is so volatile that the only ones who want to handle it are the Chinese because they have no safety standards and are wiling to toss the waste into their water supply. Elements have their limits, and we've reached the limit of Lithium.

Solar panels, too, are at their limit in terms of possible advancements. Short of developing an entirely new process for heat/light conversion into electricity, research has completely stalled.

Same thing with heat pumps and air-conditioning. There really isn't much left to figure out short of discovering something that breaks the laws of thermodynamics.

It's like the humble tomato. We've manipulated the DNA of tomatoes so much, diluting it in the process, that every possible tomato that can exist and not devolve and mutate into a sterile mess have been synthesized. Short of finding seeds from tomatoes before their cultivation and starting with a fresh slate of DNA, there really aren't many more tomato varieties we can breed/modify.

Despite our best efforts, certain things in science do have a dead end.

I am still not a subscriber to the dead end philosophy of tech. This just told me the multitude of ways it won't work.

We have had many variants of Armageddon philosophy over countless years. We once were afraid of too much horse shit because everyone owned carriages, now we have cars. House fires, but now electricity. Filament bulbs burning out now we have LEDs.

This is likely going to happen with energy like batteries, it's a matter of when, not if, we get there.

And honestly, if you ask me, it may be a discovery of another way to store energy naturally without Lithium. But I don't think that's soon, nor something that makes huge waves at the time. I just hope to be around to see it, cause shit like that fascinates me.

There is a lot of promise in Carbon batteries but as far as I have seen it's mainly theoretical or such a bitch of a manufacturing process just to produce a single cell in a lab that it would not be cost effective.

Honestly, we may just be living in a "Chain Reaction" reality where some of these inventions would be so earth shattering that the powers that be have a massive, multi trillion dollar economic incentive to block it.

Imagine the economic shake up that happens when you could create a battery that could power passenger aircraft. (that's just an example of the watt-density, not a full picture of the economic impact)

4
Mad_Maximo 4 points ago +4 / -0

Oh I believe it, there isn't a part of me that doubts economy politics are often at play here.

It's a matter of time, and what it will be. But we're sort of... Plateaued for now due to similar restrictions and regulations.

ContaigeousSuicide 2 points ago +2 / -0

Physics has its limits. There is only so much energy you can store in an electrochemical cell, even in theory.

3
Mad_Maximo 3 points ago +3 / -0

At one point we believe lightning was made of fire. And another we didn't understand the process of flight that we do now.

Physics has limits to our knowledge now. I doubt we even cracked the code of physics in our current state.

As soon as solid state batteries get better everything gas powered is fucked.

Gas prices are the single most regressive tax there is. Increases in gas prices have basically 0 effect on the wealthy, but for people commuting long distances to make close to minimum wage gas prices have massive impacts on their take-home pay. Back a few years when gas prices peaked we saw people quitting because they were literally unable to make money driving back and forth to work.

Another grifter who got rich through so called public service.

10
yanksali 10 points ago +10 / -0

Let me ask this genius. If we replace all gas vehicles with electric ones how do you intend to produce all the extra electricity needed to power the electric vehicles when you progressive lunatics hate coal, fracking and nuclear which produced electricity? Or is only enough extra electricity going to be produced to power electric limousines for the so called elites?

5
MAGALogic 5 points ago +5 / -0

Exactly.

California is going to learn this the hard way soon enough.

2
Kekkin4Kembla 2 points ago +3 / -1

They don't expect it to work. In fact they know it won't, because its designed to fail. Agreements that citizens are signed onto without referendums like the Paris Climate Accord and the TPP will result in everyone being forced into an electric car or being forced to pay astronomical taxes to drive a petrol one. Once a sufficient shift has been made to electric and the majority of the country is heavily reliant on the extra coal, they'll enact the environmental arms of their plan and shut down plants and mines, creating huge shortfalls in supply. Shortages of essential goods will follow as transport companies are unable to operate the number of vehicles necessary. People will be ultimately subservient, begging for governments to allow the plants to reopen but there won't be enough of a push to force their hand until well after irreversible damage has been done to the economy. Mass bankruptcies follow, making the last year look like a parking ticket, and the faggots that foisted the whole scheme upon us will buy the businesses our fathers created for pennies on the dollar

2
deleted 2 points ago +2 / -0
1
HaitchElGee 1 point ago +1 / -0

And they'll also make a killing by setting up businesses to recycle all of the incredibly valuable rare Earth metals in the car batteries, which need to be completely replaced every 10 years or so at a cost of thousands of dollars (a fact nobody ever points out when they push for these crappy cars).

2
lemonjuice 2 points ago +2 / -0

It's about shoving us all into self driving cars so they have control over our transportation and movement.

4
incitatus 4 points ago +4 / -0

He also hates it when we use our air conditioning. Instead of regressing and limiting energy usage, Americans innovate. We make it better and more effecient. We discover newer cheaper energy so everyone can run their AC and SUVs all day every day. Fuck that guy, forever.

1
HaitchElGee 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'm guessing he doesn't go without air conditioning though (or anything else). No no, only us little people have to go without because our betters deserve to live in the lap of luxury.

My truck gets 18-22 mpg but it allows me to transport resources. I don't have to pay for someone to do it for me. I also use those resources to fix issues with my own home that many would have to pay others for, also transport lumber to build crafts that I sell for additional income, also transport dead animals I kill that I feed my family with.

This pathetic, effeminate grifter has no idea how any of that works. He's always been surrounded by people who make the world turn. He's the epitomy of the enlightened elitist with his fake Nobel prize who likes to tell us groveling masses how the world really works.

His kind will pass.

Obama contaminated the Colorado River & put up so many wind turbines that he had to raise the number of Bald Eagles they were legally allowed to kill per year. Those things kill so many bats that it messes with the ecosystem. Let’s also not forget Solendra- Obama’s investment in solar power that went bankrupt right away. Remember the Obama Prius? What are we going to do with all those lithium batteries when the things won’t hold a charge anymore?

Obama is an environmental nightmare.
