Just to be clear about what's going on here, the communist mayor of NYC, Bill de Bozo, has been using civil enforcement agencies to bang these business owners over the head. I don't know if NYPD either outright refused to spearhead this kind of crap or he was afraid of looking stupid if they did push back, but every story coming out of NYC lately about these unconstitutional lockdown orders has involved the "sheriff" or some other obscure city agency.
Unlike most of the country, the NYC sheriff is not elected and is actually organizationally part of the city's Department of Finance. Up until COVID-1984, they were a relatively obscure, non-visible agency.
Oh, and a few days ago they sent two goons from the Taxi and Limousine Commission to harass this bar owner.
