Democrats.

Muslims.

Rioters and looters.

Politicians.

People with Biden signs, anti-Trump gear, and snarky bumper stickers.

People that are pro-abortion.

People that scam the welfare system.

People that caused the election fraud.

Biden.

Kamala.

Obama and Big Mike.

China.

...the list goes on. This is the only place I can share this other than in prayer. I can't be of any good if I have a heart filled with hatred.

Love doesn't mean a feeling. It means you're trying to convince them of the truth.

Concerning love according to the bible:

1Co 13:6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

To love your enemies is to deal with them truly and with truth.

This is what Jesus did all the time, he told the pharisees the truth and dealt with them truly, without ill intentions, without wanting their demise, but trying to convince them of the truth.

This idea the love in the bible is based on feelings is an idol.

To love biblically means to persuade them of the truth and to deal truly with our enemies.

Not trying to be contrary, but what does "love God" mean then? I'm honestly trying to understand.

To deal truly with God (no fake intentions, no fake pomp, but all honesty) and to respond to God with truth

God is truth and therefore source of truth. When we deal with God, we are giving God honor and glory by giving that truth back to God, which acknowledges to God that we subscribe to his truth.

When we deal with sinners, we are giving God honor and glory by giving that truth to sinners, which acknowledges to God that we subscribe to his truth.

So, we have to shed off our secular notion of what love means, bc people who "love God" but do not respond to God in truth (ie are fake in their belief, thoughts or actions) or do not share God's truth with sinners, is not "loving God" but to hate him. Similar to how if you were married and dealt in falsehoods with your wife/husband, that is always an act of hate, even if it was meant to protect them.

I appreciate the explanation.

Hey, i'm just telling you what's in the bible. I have no interest in inserting my opinions when it comes to Christian topics, unless it is warranted.

Pray. Pray a lot. I've struggled with this too, and whenever I've asked God to give me more love and to help me love my enemies, he answers that prayer. He helps soften my heart and take away the bitterness. "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do."

Think of Saul, going around killing Christians because he was so full of hate, and then having a miraculous conversion and becoming Paul, the greatest evangelist of all time. No one is beyond help. Everyone can choose to turn away from evil.

Hmm. If I may, I think you might need to re-align your thinking a bit.

In actual, traditional Christian theology, to love someone else is to will the good for them. This is "Caritas", or true charity. And, to truly will the good for another is to will that they cease harming their fellow man.

If a human being persists in manifest harm of others in contravention of divine and natural moral law, such as in the extreme case of a serial killer, and will not relent, it is an act of charity to end him if necessary, if only in this way will the evil be stopped.

It is possible to wish physical harm upon another, in war, or in justice, and still be practicing perfect charity toward them. Because caritas, the divine love, is not emotional. It is logical and dispassionate and complete. St. Paul and St. Augustine described it as a fire. It consumes all which is not good.

True Christian love should be this fire. It desires to consume all that is evil and leave only the good. This is why a Christian does not need to be a pacifist, or a conscientious objector, and why when we feel an urge to stop someone's manifest, willful evil being perpetrated upon the world, THAT IS NOT HATRED.

That is charity. Dispassionate, complete love for every human being includes desiring an end to evil perpetrated by human beings. I clean my guns in charity, both for those who might oppressed and for those doing the oppressing. I have a duty to protect the one, and stop the other.

This is probably the most potent "TIL" I've ever read. Thank you!

This is why I need you pedes.

Happy I could help lift you up. A deep study of actual Christian theology doesn't produce limp-wristed academics, it produces vigorous men and women who subdue the Earth and create a society where human beings can flourish in truth and justice, no matter what their gifts and challenges.

TL,DR: Charity is the complete opposite of envy and covetousness (I have nice stuff and I want everybody to achieve the same, envy= I want mine by taking it from you)

I feel my heart filling with hatred too. It's been on my mind and I'm struggling to stop it.

In eastern Christian traditions the daily battle is a personal one. Can't save those that don't want to be saved.

Love those that embrace the light.

> "I'm anti-abortion but I don't want to force my beliefs on others."

> "I'm anti-slavery but I don't want to force my beliefs on others."

This makes liberal Christians' heads explode.

Those aren't neighbors. Those are infiltrators squatting on your neighbor's property.

One problem we need to solve. Free speech has allowed communists to spread their filth.

It's legalized theft, and promoted. There needs to be safeguards against calling out for the pillaging of others wealth. These days its considered virtuous. I propose that just threatening it jeeds to be illegal. We need a radical new view if individuals rights.

As your non-Christian brother, let me tell you: It makes me feel good to hear a Christian say this for once instead of getting on your knees.

Pause app is great for learning benevolent detachment and “handing everything over to Jesus”. You are not alone, God gives us these challenges to build our endurance. ❤️🙏

I think I am now a Kek Noninterventionist Deist: God is up on a cloud looking down on us, and he wants us to fuck up traitors and commies. He won't do it himself, but he gives us the power to make our destiny.

Someone who is not of your people, is not your neighbor. Someone who wants to vote you into tax slavery, is not your neighbor.

And Mohammadan heretics are most certainly not your neighbor.

So don't feel bad about it. Find the like minded and the worthy. They are your neighbors, far more than anyone who has nothing in common with you but proximity.

one can love one's enemies and still engage in just war.
