I'm an avid reader, but ignored politics and books like 1984 for too long. I need to catch up on this. I am trying to remember another book, along the lines of 1984, but it explores the thought of self imprisonment thru our own weakness and desires.
Anything will be helpful. Maybe we can get a conservative library list going. I also like to know how the "enemy" thinks, so titles that are outside the box are appreciated, too
If you want to read something dystopian and a little far out there in terms of loss of identity, extreme government control, trying to escape, etc., you could read Anthem by Ayn Rand (1937 or 38). The main character is named "Equality 7-2521".
