Got laid off in March. Didn’t find work till August. Now I just found out I’m gonna be zero houred till next year sometime like March (which isn’t an option for me). 3 weeks before Christmas...what a year.

If any of you fellow patriots know anyone that needs a Piping Designer in Texas PM me.

Smart thinking. Even if you're down for the first charge at gettysburg 2.0 you shouldn't probably mention where family works or does business. That's always the first thing they go after because they are cowards. They don't want to fight you. They want to demoralize you. And shame you.

Is it because of WuFlu faggotry?

52
TexasPiper [S] 52 points ago +52 / -0

First time was oil crash plus wuflu bullshit. That’s why it took me 5 months to find work. Now it’s a combination of wuflu bullshit and likely uncertainty from clients on the next year. Company had a bunch of work lined up but the clients are now saying they won’t be doing anything till at least Q2 next year.

rimper 26 points ago +26 / -0

Thanks for the answer. I wish you and your family well. Stay strong, my friend.

My husband has only had a few weeks of work this year, it's been hard on us too. Due to chinaflu they made it so they only have half the employees at any given time, and it's seniority based. The unemployment is just enough to pay some bills, but we also had to take on some debt and i've had to basically "nugget" my kid's food to make sure they eat first. I'm sorry you're having to go through this BS too.

I am so sorry.

Thank you for the condolences, really hoping Trump saves the country and we can get back on our feet soon.

You are welcome. You and your family are in my heart and my prayers. You are a good momma and your husband is a good daddy.

TDW should absolutely become a place where patriots can help each other recover from the destruction of Tyranny. Upvoting for visibility.

Tons of MEP firms in Texas. A quick indeed.com search comes up with many.

22
TexasPiper [S] 22 points ago +22 / -0

Unfortunately MEP is not a feather in my cap. I come from an O&G, power and industrial background. Nonetheless I’ve got resumes out there.

26
TexasPiper [S] 26 points ago +26 / -0

Lol no. Piping as in piping systems for refineries, power plants, chemical plants etc.

Miller Mott has an office in Houston. They have a hiring freeze for the year, but DM me if you're up for networking? You never know what will open up.

7
TexasPiper [S] 7 points ago +7 / -0

I have experience with process piping design for multiple industries such as O&G and power production both retrofits and greenfield. So laying out equipment, laying out the piping, making the 3D models, generating the fab isometrics, plan drawings, supporting construction and fab, doing walk downs at existing facilities

7
HatnNewLognReqs 7 points ago +7 / -0

I'm told its what their facilities guys do... asking around to see what the hiring situation is expected to be like in that dept.

Fingers crossed, but keep your resumes going out! In my experience, its not what you know, its who you know, so network all you can!

7
TexasPiper [S] 7 points ago +7 / -0

You are absolutely right, I’ve gotten all my jobs thru networking.

I would look into some mechanical/plumbing companies near you. That skill set would transfer over pretty well to a CAD/BIM guy in the construction world.

There is a lot of plant work on the Texas coast. If you're close by Corpus or Port Lavaca the chemical plants are always hiring.

5

Thanks, I’m hitting some contacts up.

I feel for you. I also lost my job twice here in Washington state. I'm taking what little savings we have left moving back to North Texas.

7
Nomad 7 points ago +7 / -0

Try looking into aluminum can plants. It's one of the industries that benefited from people staying home since it created a can shortage. I know they're building a plant near me.

7
TexasPiper [S] 7 points ago +7 / -0

Ok will do thank you

6
jamesjk1234 6 points ago +6 / -0

Prayers for you, man. Sorry to hear about it.

6
jts1 6 points ago +6 / -0

I hear ya, my company had to go bankrupt partly due to the wuflu, I was there for 16 years and now I'm in-between jobs...f C hina and the Demoncrats for what they have done to us!

1
Cyer6 1 point ago +1 / -0

I have the WuFlu right now and it's nothing. The regular flu is much worse and I'm in the higher risk age group. I can't believe what we've allowed these leftists to do to this country (and the entire world) over this bullshit scam. Now that I've caught it and am knocking it out as fast as Trump did, I'm even more pissed off about it.

Wishing you the best pede, I live in Texas but don't have any connections in that line of work.

4

I don’t think so...pretty different I would imagine.

2

You are correct there would be virtually zero crossover, best of luck my friend it's a tough world out there for the time being

4

I’m also a piping designer in Houston, rough times. I’ll keep my eyes open for you friend.

3

I'm sorry pede, I was laid off in September due to wufu. My new start date got pushed out, and uncertain if it'll come thru. Easier said than done but stay positive and envision the right job unfolding. Been having my good and bad days. try to Think of what you want your theme to be for 2020, I'm choosing resilience. God has a plan baby!

This is probably worth jack-shit, but I met A LOT of Texans, a few years back, heading through my part of Pennsylvania on their way to the northern oil and gas fields. Not moving here, just doing 6-9 month contracting jobs for heavy cash. Mostly young fellas with no family or house, but back-to-wall, it might be an option.

Is a piping designer like being a plumber? I thought those were safe jobs?

1
TexasPiper [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Piping design is for larger pipe systems. It’s on the engineering side of things not the actual fabrication. It’s generally pretty secure but it has its ups and downs depending on the industry you’re in.

1
Monkeybeardontcare 1 point ago +1 / -0

What’s piping designer?

1
TexasPiper [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Piping design involves the design of piping systems for a variety of industries such as power plants, chemical plants, oil refineries etc. You design the layout of equipment, layout of the piping and how to support it, generate 3D models and generate construction drawings and fabrication drawings. There’s more to it than that but just a quick summary.
