Yes, I know. And of course I agree with their ultimate decision to not lock down everything. But it still kinda falls in line with the whole inaction thing. It was never about preserving or protecting citizens’ freedom, rather that Tegnell and folkhälsomyndigheten already came to the conclusion that they’d accept that people would get infected and die. This decision was taken in early March when data on death rates and how dangerous it actually was, was not as available or correct as it is now.
In other words they decided to not try to do anything because they thought it’d be pointless - and in hopes of reaching a hypothetical herd immunity.
They used the wrong equation but ended up with the right answer.
Don’t get me wrong, I am glad they didn’t lock down - I just wish it had been out of respect for our freedom.
