It was a reference to his show today. He said that back in the 70s/80s it was normal to call somebody "old man <name>" as a form of respect, and how it is not PC now. He talked about a neighbor in Queens when he was growing up that he and other neighborhood kids respected and would talk to often.

Ahh. Thanks for that. Makes sense now. Hard to keep up with all the happenings these days with so much going on especially when I'm at the office.
