If you only knew the snide remarks I have endured from minimum wage college grads when they find out I didn't go to college....then after they go for a bit and act like asses I drop in that I manage multiple teams of programmers, data warehouse devs, and data scientists.

This. Software engineer pede here. Lots of us have degrees. A few don't.
That degree can be a valuable tool in advancing your career, so I wouldn't discourage people from getting one, but I don't think for a second that people who get them are somehow higher quality people. It's just a big certification arms race.
That's a system the libs have created. Look at the proportion of technical degrees back in the 1960's compared to today. They bullied their way into creating all these made up programs (gender studies, for example) and many of the people you see today are a byproduct of it. What sane person thinks it is okay to give kids chemicals top change their gender?
College is fine if you go and get a degree that the world needs (STEM). I have a PhD in an Engineering field. I also grew up country poor and went into the military before college.
