Don't fall for it pede. First we share decimal points, then we fall for the old "metric system" switch, and before we know it we're singing the praises of Chairman Mao.
The length of a mile is a beautiful unit of measure. It is divisible by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, and 12. Need a third of a mile? 1760 feet. Metric is horrible for practical use by everyday people.
Fluid volume and weight is easy: i fluid ounce of water weights one ounce. 16 ounces (easily divided into half, quarters, and eights) of water weighs one pound. As the Brits always said, "A pint's a pound the world around."
Acres are also cool: 43,560 square feet is an acre, and a square mile has 640 acres in it, which is easily divided into equal plots as you divide farmland and such. An acre is divisible by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, and 12, so creating sub-acre plots is also easy.
metric is good for academics because u can just move over the decimal point
imperial is good for regular people who engage in small scale mental math because u can third, halve, and quarter with extreme ease. imperial is essentially base 12
while metric is base 10.
base 12 > base 10 for normal everyday life. sorry euronerds
Almost all the Computer parts are designed using the metric System, including the Computer you were on when you typed this Comment.
It's just the way it is right now.
Good luck designing all the components yourself for your new Imperial measurement System based computer.
If you Ever get one made maybe I'll buy one.
It is standardized: what we do in the US is the standard and everyone else is wrong. They whine and complain because they envy and hate us. We call the tune and they dance. This election is their last gasp effort to destroy us.
Decimal place instead of comma? Where is this posted from? Frankfurt?
This is one of those things I just can't believe is not absolutely standardized worldwide wtf
That and the weird thing about billions and trillions is wack.
The only globalization I want

Fucking communist numbering systems.

Uh-huh, that's all very interesting... https://youtu.be/saMy_JY3I7M?t=21
THEY'LL HAVE TO PRY MY 3/32ndths of an Inch from my cold dead hands!!!
1776 WILL COMMENCE AGAIN IF YOU TRY TO TAKE OUR MILES, OUNCES, DRAMS, GRAINS, AND FEET FROM US!
When do the trains roll up?
Anyone who puts imperial in parentheses after metric should be deported and have their citizenship revoked
As an imperial swine I concur

and measuring our dicks in centimeters
Good comma.
I mean, good point.
Lol!
Haha

Madness. Decimal points are for decimals. Hence the term "decimal points". It's aluminium, though. Latin, bitches.
